[C1] Fly Out

I watched Valka talk to my brother again about another mission, which I'm sadly not able to go because it's dangerous for me. I didn't care. They always do this, push me away from small dangerous things, I'm not weak! - “Y/n?” I turned to look at Fifi, Deadly Nadder with orange and red fiery scales. She has been my friend, only friend, for years.

“You look stressed, wanna go out on a fly with me?” A smile crept face, “Sure” I answered as I followed her out of the cavern to the outside. The cool icy breeze brushed against my face as soon as we were out.

I let out a long sigh, a grin on my face, “Ready? I was thinking of going further!” She said excitedly, her wings wide open ready to take flight as her tail wags. Chuckling at her, amused, my wings opened as well before diving off of the giant ice shard.

The wind caught my wings and I glided in the air, Fifi right behind me. I spread my arms out, enjoying the calming breeze, flights like this always relaxes me, clearing my head when stressed or overthinking, times like this I enjoy breaking the rules.

After some time, Fifi said we should take a break even though I was barely tired. I agreed. We decided to take a break in the redwood forest, which has been the farthest I've ever gone from home. Fifi, on the other hand, has been everywhere from what she's told me.

Fifi was curled up while I rested against her, looking up at the blue sky with a few fluffy clouds here and there. The air here isn't as cold as back home, it's warmer.

It's something I like, it's warm, new, and colorful, while back home it's the opposite, well besides colors, the dragons fill in the boring ice-blue cavern. As I continued admiring the sky, I suddenly heard a roar in the distance, sitting up quickly, “Did you hear that?”, “Hear what?” another roar, “That” I said.

Fifi got up and looked at me confused, I rolled my eyes and ran in the direction the sound came from, Fifi right behind me, until we reached a cliff, a big cliff. “So will you mind explaining?” She asked, looking over the cliff and around, “I heard something, a dragon roar, it sounded like it was in trouble..” I muttered.

She looked at me, not as confused but more shocked. “I have a better hearing” I reminded her as I jumped down from the cliff and flapped my wings through the fog, “H-hey wait up!” Fifi said as she followed me quickly. My heart raced as it did when we explored a new area, but it was different this time.

We continued flying and soon Fifi was able to pick up the roads too, then we saw it. I thought Valka was making it up, other humans, dragons in nets and cages, in pain... I can feel it. “Oh my ice..” I looked over at Fifi, “We need to help them!”, “We should get Valka!”

We stared at each other for a long time until I heard a very familiar roar… shit. We both quickly hid in the shadows seeing my brother and Valka in full suits appear from the water. Well damn, the big guy isn't that lazy after all.

We watched as he blew ice all over the base while Valka freed the other dragons, and left as quickly as they came, along with the other dragons. “Woah” I finally say, “Those are the kind of missions they do?!” I asked, turning to Fifi, she nodded.
