Leaving my father's office I walked back to the car and climbed into the front seat. I locked the door with a quick click, ignoring the intense stare I got from the porch. The warm steering wheel burned against my palms and I only gripped it tighter. I let out a groan of frustration, taking a deep breath afterwards to calm myself.

What more do I have to do? I've done everything I could think of to get my father's approval. He still doesn't see me.

I have his DNA running through my veins but I will never be his daughter. Only by blood. He'll never care for me like he does for Madison. I'm just a solution to most of his problems. A temporary solution until he replaces me.

I won't be able to relax if I don't do something about this anger burning inside of me. Maybe I should let it out on the boss who stole Madison’s diamond ring.

I unlocked the doors and made my way to the back of my car. My boots scrunched over the tiny rocks that filled the ground and I covered my eyes from the sunlight. I opened the boot and unzipped my duffle bag, searching through everything.

Grabbing extra bullets from the silver case I pulled out an extra gun with two knives to hide inside my boots. Better safe than sorry. It's good to have extra weapons. At last that's what my father always used to tell me. Closing the boot I quickly tied my dark hair into a ponytail, using my fingers to comb through the knots.

A few minutes later Madison walked out of the mansion. The two men that were guarding my father's door now followed behind her. Her mother called her back to the porch and the two of them talked in hushed voices. Her shocked and confused face was even more intense than father's. I can't blame her reaction either. Madison and I are rarely seen together.

Madison had changed into a shorter dress and wore a pair of red high heels. Her hair was no longer tied but spread out over her shoulders. I stared at her confusion, unable to stop my eyes from rolling.

What does she think we're going to do, party?

“What are you wearing?” I asked, giving her the ‘What the fuck’ look when she approached the car.

“What” she shrugged, lifting her arms in innocence. “I need to look sexy. What if I meet my future husband?” she winked, twirling her hair with her finger and glanced up at the clear sky.

“I'm not taking you with me so you can go man shopping." I sighed. "We're taking back your diamond ring and I'm going to kill the people who stole it. That's it.” I told her, annoyed.

“Can we just go already? I'm sick of this place.” she whispered and walked over to the other side of my car.

I opened my door, agreeing with her. This mission has been going on for too long today. I need to get it over with already. I still have a list of things to do in my free time.

“You're not riding with me.” I muttered and slid into my car, starting the engine. Madison joined me by taking the seat right next to me, her strong perfume suffocating the air.

“I need to stay close to you so you can protect me.” she said with a smile and I bit back my next words as I opened the window for fresh air.

I don't want you anywhere near me.

Realising she wouldn't take no for an answer I looked into the side mirror and searched for the guards. When I finally saw them getting into their cars we drove off.

Madison couldn't stop talking the entire ride. Just hearing her voice made it felt like I was being tortured. At some point I even turned on the radio just to shut her up for a moment of peace. I didn't even listen to half of what she said. Too frustrated about the fact that I was trapped in a car with her.
