Maxine
I took a taxi to Central warehouse and instructed the driver to stop a block away from the building. When the uber stopped I pulled out the money and paid him before climbing out. He drove away and I pulled the guns out of my jeans.
With a deep breath I walked towards the warehouse. My body trembled as I got closer and closer. My father's black car was parked down the street. I gave it one glance, knowing he wouldn't have come alone. The other cars must be parked somewhere out of sight. And yet, that's exactly what I did; came all alone with no one to protect me from him and his men.
Scanning the area and making sure it was safe I crossed the road. I stopped at one of the entrances and slowly pushed the door open. With a sharp and steady gaze I took in the dark warehouse. There wasn't much to see but an empty building with a bunch of random stuff laying around.
“You weren't important to him after all.” my father's voice echoed. He stood on the other side of the room, only a small light shining on his face.
“He didn't send me.” I replied. I could see the corner of his mouth curl up and his gaze turned sinister.
“Then where is he?” he asked, glancing towards a man standing in the corner. Most likely giving him an order.
“Not here.”
My father took a step forward shaking his head with a scoff. “You saw the message.”
I lifted my gun towards him. “Where's my mother? What have you done to her? If you laid a hand on her I swe–”
“No need to worry. She'll get what she deserves.” he interrupted.
“She hasn't done anything wrong! My wrong doings have nothing to do with her.”
“Does killing Adrian's mother still count as doing nothing wrong?”
I looked at him confused, letting out a chuckle. “Now you're calling her a murderer? What the hell is wrong with you!”
“I'm calling her a murderer because that's what she is. She's a psychotic bitch. If it wasn't for your grandfather we would've never gotten married in the first place. She has always had an obsession with me and on that very night she killed Adrian's mother after finding out I was in love with her. ” he hissed, closing his eyes.
My chest tightened. “Stop lying! You're trying to turn me against the only person who matters to me. Did you really think Adrian would fall for a stupid lie like this?”
“I don't think Adrian would call camera footage a stupid lie would he? After all that's what he's been looking for.” my father smirked, twirling a blue usb between his fingers.
“Send Adrian the footage and tell him where he can find her.” he told a man who walked out of the shadows and typed down on his phone.
My chest burned with each breath I took and deep down I was having a panic attack. I tried my best not to show my state and pretended to be composed. I can't let him get under my skin. Would Adrian actually believe my father? The footage has to be fake there is no way. He's lying…
“You never wondered where your mother got that scar on her forehead? Or why I forced her to take those pills.”
I swallowed and avoided his gaze.
"Because she's crazy. That pills were there to keep her sane. Until you threw them away." he exclaimed, his gaze hardening on me even more.
“Adrian is going to go kill your mother. I'm going to kill you." he chuckled darkly, pacing around. "You know Maxine, from the moment you were born I couldn't stand to be near you. Being related to the two of you was truly a curse. You're her child not mine. I have one daughter and that's Maddison."
