Devil's Daughter

Chapter 12

As the sky began to darken, they were stopped by a dark skinned boy who eyes were immediately on Ziggy.

"Uh, H-h-hey Z-Ziggy." Stuttered the boy, as he ignored the other two people with her.

Ziggy looked like a deer on headlights as she stared at him. "Oh, H-hi Jonathan." Said Ziggy, trying to appear calm but was screaming internally inside as she glanced for help towards a smiling Artemis and Nick as they looked away.

'Traitors!!' Thought Ziggy as she breathed deeply, trying to calm her red face.

"Um, so is there something you need?" Asked Ziggy, as she played with her hand's in attempt to play off cool.

"Ah, well-"

"Who would've know. Fierce Ziggy has a crush on the nerdy shy kid." Stated Nick as they both watch in amusement as both Ziggy and Jonathan turned red.

Artemis hummed in agreement. Turning around to give the two privacy, she looked towards the setting sun, admiring the colors which seemed to blend all together.

Nick admired her beauty, watching her silently as to not disturb the peaceful atmosphere around them. Her shoulder brushes against his as she swayed a little before turning to look at him.

Heart skipping fast, he hurriedly looked away trying to hide his reddening face as he brushed his hair with his hand, unconsiously.

"Movie night is tomorrow. Think you can spill any movie names?" Asked Artemis as she leaned towards Nick who gulped loudly before coughing, pretending he had something stuck in his throat.

"Well," smirked Nick. "Why do you want to know?"

"Well your answer may depend on my question if I should go or not."

"Well if that's the case... then your gonna have to find out for yourself." Stated Nick, smiling.

"So will you be there?" He asked curiously.

"Maybe." She stated. "Why, do you want me there?"

Nick stared into her eyes. "W-well if you want to be there." He stuttered, as she leaned closer, he could feel their hands touching as he breathed in her scent.

For a moment it was silent as Nick decided to be brave and leaned closer towards her, catching the sharp inhale as he did.

"HEY, I can't believe you left me like that. It was so imbaressing and weird." Exclaimed Ziggy as she crashed into the two from behind.

Both looked away quickly hiding their red face as Ziggy dragged Artemis to the destination.

(Nature cabin)

"I hate snakes." Ziggy mumbled to herself while she and Nick gathered a few insects to place in an empty bucket.

"They aren't that bad." Grinned Artemis as she petted the snake sitting in it habitat. 'But they suck at making conversations.'

"Are you sure about this?" Ziggy whispered, so that only Artemis could hear her.

"Every person's nightmare are bugs." She remarked with a smirk, but Ziggy quickly shook her head.

"Not the bugs. Nick. Are you sure we can trust him?"

Artemis took a moment to think over Ziggy's question.

"For now he is proven useful in your little revenge and this was his idea. But if you don't trust him then just be cautious, there's nothing wrong with having an enemy be an ally for a bit."

"We're all set." Nick called out as walked towards the girls with a bucket full of spiders, roaches, and worms.

Ziggy peered into the bucket before quickly looking away from the bugs.

"Nasty." She grinned before grabbing a few random flowers, while Artemis stealed the cabin's radio.

"Artemis and I'll set the scene, you've got the bucket."
