Fate is a hunter, skill is no use and luck will eventually run out in dark, desperate times like these. How might I know this you ask? Simple. I'm forced to be living it. Think of the nice sun in the sky as it beams down on me, going out with friends and family, going to the movies and gossiping about whatever in school, that's what I dream about every day. But. Instead, I'm counting my days, fighting for my life and friends, going home and wishing I won't wake up the next day. You can't hide because it will eventually find you. You can't fight because it will get you killed. You can sure as hell run, but that's only gonna get you so far until you break down for it to get to you.
No matter where you go, it will eventually catch up and drag you down. Yes... Fate is indeed a hunter. And it's hunting me

In and out That's what Tess said. Just a quick job, no biggie. Get the pills to the guard and then head back, she'll do the talking, I'll keep an eye out outside, no problem. So where the fuck is she?
I let out a frustrated sigh, my arms crossed as I leaned against the wall with an impatient feeling, my eyes on the surroundings of the area of the West End District. Everyone passed by cautiously, clutching their bags and papers as if they were valuables in a shit stained place full of thieves. Well, they're only valuables if you owe someone. That's the West End District for you. Only the stupidest people trade an item for another in these parts.
And yes, I'm calling us stupid too.
"Come on, Tess..." I grumble lightly, looking away for a split second to look at the door to hopefully find the lady walking through the busted and worn out, rusty fence but with no luck. My heart started to pick up when I ran through some scenarios that might have happened: One, it was all a set up and now FEDRA is gonna track down me and Joel. Two, the guard is being picky and a little fussy to the point Tess is about to pull a gun on them. Three, she's dead. Right as I was about to move, my hand stretched out for the handle of the door, the boarded up chain link gate decided to greet my face with a nice hard smack and cause me to recoil and cup my nose through the respirator.
While I was silently cursing in pain, a tall white lady with dusty brown hair that's held up by a worn out grey bandana with a small white design stepped out of the entrance of the alleyway, dusting her red buttoned short sleeved shirt off as her eyes looked around the place before landing on me with a stern but still somehow soft look. "Stand up straight, you look like a slacker." She ordered, looking me up and down at my shifted posture. Now if you didn't use your brain just now, this is Tess, one out of two of my bosses. Now don't be deceived by this woman, she may look like nothing but a rugged tough rascal but she will turn you inside out if you mess with her and her business. Trust me, that's how I met her. My other boss is Joel, a fossil of a man in his early fifty or so, bulky too.
