"Holy shit.. " Eda muttered. "That ass clown is Raines father!?" Noa asked. "Yeah.." Tracy sighed and folded her arms. "Mom! You said my dad was dead!" Raine argued. "Yeah well.. He's dead to me, so it still counts" Tracy argued back. "Uh.. Excuse me-" Terry asked. "Shut up" Tracy snapped. "Yes ma'am.. " Terry sighed. "Not even gonna lie.. I thought Raine was adopted" Darius sighed. "Agreed.. I also believed that" Lilith chimed in. Raine was baffled. "Yeah.. I kinda thought that too" Noa said. "What!? I'm not adopted!" Raine argued. Eda sighed. "I mean.. I kinda thought that too" she said. Raine was frustrated, but then, pulled Eda behind them. "Mom.. Really?" Raine asked while holding Eda behind them. "I'm sorry, we can talk about it all another day, but it's late, and we should get some rest" Tracy explained. Everyone did glance at Eda when Tracy said something about getting rest. "Yeah, yeah okay" Raine agreed and kept Eda closer.
There was so much to be unpacked right now, but all of that could come later.
A beautiful fall afternoon together on their special hill, it had taken 2 weeks for Eda's cuts to heal, then an additional week of her refusing to go to the hospital after one opened up again, then another week for that cut to heal. So a month in total of recovery.
Eda was sitting next to them as they played their violin for her. She loved hearing them play, and they liked playing for her. After finishing, they put their violin back in the case and saw her checking them out. They started blushing and asked. "What are you looking at?" Eda blushed immediately and turned her head away. "A hot musician" Eda teased, seeing Raine turn red. "Really, Calamity?" They asked while laughing. Eda also started laughing as Raine faced her. "You're a mess, you know that?" Raine asked teasingly. "Yeah.. But you love me" Eda teased back. Raine sighed happily and pulled Eda into their lap.
"You're right. I do love you" they replied in a soft voice. Eda's cheeks went from pink to red hearing that, so she placed a small kiss on their cheek. Technically, they never asked each other for the relationship, eda and Raine just stared at each other for 10 minutes, then started holding hands, while smiling, silently agreeing eda was their girlfriend, and Raine was her partner. No words were really needed. So for the past month, anyone who they didn't know talked to them, and they both agreed on their relationship status. "I love you too, rainestorm" Eda replied. Raine pressed a few kisses on her head, until Eda got playful, and pinned them down.
They were both laughing, now here's where things can even out. Eda is very strong, but Raine is slightly physically stronger than her and could turn this whole thing around. But they'd let her have this. "Eda! Let me up!" They complained. "Kiss me properly!" Eda argued with them with a smirk. Eda let go of their arms, then felt raines hands on her hips. "Okay, calamity" they agreed. Eda leaned down, immediately feeling her lips captured by Raines. Raine held the back of her head, kissing her for the first time was like a dream come true. Her Scarlett lips were soft, perfect, and loving. She started crying, smiling as they kissed her. She ran her fingers through their hair, making a small satisfied sound.
Their kiss ended with a pop, when Raine opened their eyes, they noticed the few tears escaping from her eyes. "Eda! Hey.. Hey, what's wrong?" They asked. Eda shook her head. "No.. No, I'm just.. So happy" she said, as more tears clouded her vision. Raine smiled softly, and cleared her eyes, then kissed her forehead. "I want you.. To be the happiest person in the world" they said, then kissed her head again. "What did I do to deserve you?" Eda asked while sitting up. "Be your beautiful, amazing self" Raine answered.
Eda's phone rang and it was her sister.
"One second" Eda whispered, then answered.
"Hey Lily"
"Hi edalyn, am I interrupting anything?"
"Eh.. Sort of, but it's fine, what's up?"
"Noa saw, there's going to be a meteorite shower tonight! We're all going to the park since it starts in three hours"
"Seriously!? That's awesome! We'll be right there!"
Eda hung up and saw Raine's silly smile. "Don't look at me! Now come on!" Eda yelled while getting up. "Sorry to break it to you il be looking at you until the day we die" Raine teased. Eda rolled her eyes, and they both got up to meet their friends at the park.
When they got there, Eda hugged Lilith tight. Lilith chuckled, "Hello Edalyn, you seem.. Overly happy?" Lilith asked. Eda giggled, then looked back at Raine, then whispered in Lilith's ear about why she was so happy. Lilith did start snickering snickering, making Eda blush harder. Soon Tracy came as well and rustled raines hair. "Eda you look like your healing, nicely," Tracy said. "Yeah, after I had to force her to the hospital" Raine scoffed. "Stuff it" Eda scoffed while glaring at them. "Make me," Raine remarked Eda then tackled them, down so Tracy took a step forward. "Take it back!" Eda yelled. "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!" Noa and Darius cheered. "Eda okay! Not so rough!" Raine yelled. The truth was they could totally pin her down, but they'd again let her have this victory.
After they were done messing around, the sun started setting. The meteor shower started right when the moon rose over the horizon.
This marked a new chapter in as life, she smiled, feeling Raine's arms around her stomach. Sure she was still a little fucked up, but positive things could only get better from here.
Okay!!! So technically this is the end of the book, but part 2 of this book is coming out tomorrow morning. "The One Who Survives" because my brain refuses to let me do a slow burn right now, and j don't wanna leave y'all hanging on this. So look for part 2 tomorrow.
