Plan

"Did you all see the message the kidnappers sent today? Obviously, we won't follow their order, and now that they don't have a leader, their organization will be affected because of that. We must call for reinforcements, the entire FBI if possible. The power of their weaponry is truly threatening. I say this because I've been investigating, and they were the ones who planted bombs in my headquarters."

Naomi stood up from the chair where she was interrogating Gerard and turned to look at the other FBI members.

"After delivering the money, we'll pursue and apprehend them, finally putting an end to their robberies."

After discussing it among all the FBI headquarters, they agreed on this plan, and all units would be present with their vehicles and weapons hidden as if they were ordinary civilians passing through the area to avoid arousing suspicion from the kidnappers. The meetings they held to organize themselves took about 8 hours, but in the end, they managed to allocate all the zones where each headquarters would be stationed so that none of the kidnappers could escape.

Obviously, L had been informed about this. Naomi continued to send all the information to Watari as the FBI gave instructions or made changes to ensure the success of the plan at 10 o'clock.

Once all the meetings were over, Naomi returned to the hotel. She wanted to check on Ryuzaki's condition. As she rode the elevator up to her room, she felt very nervous for some reason, which was unusual. There was no apparent reason for her to feel this way.

When she opened the door to her room, she saw Ryuzaki standing by the window in his usual stooped posture, and he turned to look at her.

"I've spoken with L. Today, the case will finally come to an end," he said spontaneously and sat down in his particular manner, starting to eat many desserts.

"Zaki, I'm glad you're okay," Naomi said with great happiness.

"Hmm... if you call me Zaki, should I refer to you as Nao?" Ryuzaki wasn't good at understanding nicknames or anything similar. He believed that if people had a name, they should be called by it; there was no need to shorten names, but he would try.

It might have been Naomi Misora's paranoia, but she believed there was something odd about Ryuzaki's attitude. Of course, I can't confirm whether it was true or false. I'm not good at understanding those things.

"By the way, to observe the arrest, L got us a helicopter. It's currently parking on the rooftop here. Since the hotel is quite tall, it's difficult to see, and Watari took care of explaining it to the hotel."

After finishing eating, Ryuzaki stood up and put on some slightly worn-out sneakers.

"We need to go up now and leave; the arrest will happen soon."

Once inside the helicopter, Naomi was impressed to discover that Ryuzaki knew how to pilot. They headed towards the scene, and when they were already above the bank, they found out that the hostages had been freed and the robbers were escaping. That was when the FBI began to pursue them with their vehicles, and the situation turned violent, with several injuries, but in the end, they managed to handcuff all the criminals.

Finally, Naomi felt a great relief. Everything would be calmer now, and the criminals would finally be behind bars.

"We did it, Ryuzaki," she said softly.

"You did it, Nao," Ryuzaki responded with a change in his expression.

At that moment, Naomi's cell phone began to ring. It was a call from a restricted number, so curious, she answered.

"Naomi Misora, this is L speaking. Congratulations. You handled the case on your own. The credit is yours, not mine. I owe you an apology for not helping you. You've exceeded my expectations. Thank you for everything."

Actually, it was a pre-recorded message that L asked Watari to play once everything was over. This way, L and Ryuzaki could somehow exist at the same time.

"Thanks to you.Goodbye, L."
