Ash woke up early, excited for the day. Alastor had said he would take her around the city. Getting dressed, Ash pulled on a black hoodie, and light blue leggings, topping it off with her red converse. She brushed her hair and ran downstairs.
"Ay toots, what's your hurry?" Angel asked from the couch in the lobby.
"Dad said he'd take me out today. It'll be our first outing since he adopted me!" Ash replied excitedly, Angel smiled.
"Good for you toots!""Ash dear, ready to go already? And here I thought I'd have to wake you up." A familiar staticky voice chuckled. Ash grinned.
"Nope. Ready to go when you are!" The teen smiled at her father.
"Wonderful, lets be off then shall we?" The radio host offered his hand. Ash smiled and took it.
"We shall." She mocked in a British accent, poorly faked may I add. Alastor rolled his eyes playfully and walked her out the door."I say I show you to a wonderful café for a late breakfast and then we go see Rosie. How does that sound?" Ash grinned
"Sounds great dad!" She looked at Alastor, noticing the soft expression of his face.
"Lovely." His grin widened. The café was nice, or as nice as a place can get in hell, where everything is sex, drugs, and homicide; gentle music played in the background of the chatter from the few guests, Alastor steered Ash over to a booth in the far corner.
"Don't want more people that necessary to see an overlord in a café with a little girl ay dad?" Ash joked, Alastor shook his head.
"Not at all dear, simply don't want to scare the other customers." The demon shrugged.
"Okay, makes sense."The morning was relaxing, they sat is the café, Alastor with his black coffee, Ash with her waffles and hot chocolate. She already knew her father was a cannibal in life and death, but she was fine with it. They made small talk, talking about their weeks and how they were. Alastor was glad his daughter was doing well here in hell. After all, despite being a heartless overlord, he cared deeply for the girl.
After finishing their late breakfast, the father and daughter walked to cannibal town. Ash saw Rosie as a sort of mother figure, although she would never admit it. However, Alastor knew the girl looked up to the female overlord, he himself was Aroace and had no interest in dating or anything of the sort, so he was glad Ash found someone she could look up too who was the same gender as her.
At Rosies they drank tea and caught up, had a fancy dinner, because they had a late breakfast and didn't feel the need for lunch, and went back to Rosies home after to chat more. During the chat, Ash dozed off, her head resting on Alastors shoulder, him talking note of her sleeping, put his tea down and kindly said farewell to Rosie before taking Ash back to the hotel.
Alastor laid his sleeping daughter in bed and covered her with a blanket, his smile had been genuine all day, and he knew it was because... who wouldn't smile around a girl as precious as Ash? Especially when he had the right to say she was his child.
"Good night dear." He whispered, leaving the room hearing a faint 'love you dad' sleepily mumbled by Ash before closing the door. Tears of joy welled in Alastor's eyes, he knew that whatever sadistic thing made him and overlord before meeting Ash was nothing compared to what he would do to keep his position as the most powerful overlord in hell; protecting Ash was his new motivation for his narcissistic habits, her safety his number one motive and priority. He wanted to keep a smile on her face for as long as he could, a real smile.
