Charlotte's POV:
Secret passage? I asked as confusion hit my sorry butt, secret definitely got my attention, never have I thought that this library had secrets.
Mrs. Thompson hummed in response." You heard me right dear".
"But how can this "secret passage" help me?" I asked once again, okay maybe I always ask too much, but hey! a secret passage never heard of that before.
She sighed rubbing her temple "That's a bit long to discuss, come follow me." She said as she stood and left the table.
I quickly followed her, my questions still unanswered, what is this secret passage thing, can this teleport me to my apartment or something? I'm just so lost right now, maybe I'm dreaming? Oh no, please don't, I look ugly when I sleep especially when I drool.
Mrs Thompson and I went to the more private area of the library. She finally stopped in her tracks as I was catching up to her fast speed, while I was gasping for air she looked around the area and pulled out a certain book. Why do I feel like I'm in secret movies where we will be robbing an organization full of information? Well, that's still awesome so I don't mind.
She stepped back from the shelves and looked with a stern face I quickly followed around and stepped back, now standing beside her.
Suddenly the floors started rumbling like crazy, and I was in a panic mood, looking at Mrs. Thompson she wasn't fazed at all" Mrs. Thompson, what is happening!? I asked panicking, I could get a heart attack right now. Then the floor dropped you heard me right the freaking floor dropped, shit I'm really going to die!
"Oh stop being dramatic dear you're not gonna die" she exclaimed "Open your eyes"
I opened one eye still unsure, both my eyes popped open, and holy moly. As we were still heading down I could see tall bookshelves from afar, what a beautiful sight. The bookshelves weren't the normal-looking ones found in the library it was quite bigger than the average. Inside those bookshelves were tons of books when I mean tons, I mean an ocean of books.
"Where did you collect all of those, Mrs. Thompson!" I said as amusement filled me.
"That's a secret I mustn't tell" she shrugged. Disappointment hit my curiosity as we reached our destination. Mrs. Thompson walked first and I followed, now that I think of it the bookshelves look like buildings when you're not on the floor elevator thingy.
After a lengthy journey on foot, we finally arrived at the location Mrs. Thompson had been searching for. As we approached, a massive door came into view, with a keyhole resembling the shape of the key that Mrs. Thompson had entrusted to me. The door was a true work of art, with intricately crafted sculptures adorning its surface, each one perfectly matching the others in a beautiful display of symmetry. As I gazed at the door in awe, I couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence for the skilled artisans who had created such a masterpiece. Fantasy theme I have always loved.
Mrs. Thompson approached the door with a book in her hands, she murmured a few words that I couldn't fully understand, I wanted to ask questions but Mrs. Thompson was busy with her ritual thing.
The door brightened tracing the sculpture on the door, It glowed a luminous gold color. I was beyond amazed and scared that a freaking door was shining, but I trusted Mrs. Thompson, now that I think of it, its not impossible for the secret passage to teleport me, I mean this looked too magical to be true.
Mrs. Thompson stopped murmuring and the door opened afterward, my eyes widened as the inside of the door wasn't a room, but rather a forest?
I looked at Mrs. Thompson confusion lingering in my head. She probably noticed, because my question was eventually answered.
"That's your way dear, here take this book in case."
"Wait! I'm going in there!? But that's rather a forest than my apartment?"
"Yes, yes you're heading home, don't worry." She assured
Are you sure? What if I get killed in there? I asked worried.
"You won't, now go now, shoo" she stated.
I looked at the forest once again hesitating to enter, before Mrs. Thompson forced me in.
" "Wait," I pleaded, looking back. But I was interrupted when the door shut and disappeared from my sight.
I sighed heavily, "I don't know what to do." I looked again, and a staircase awaited me.
"This is gonna be the death of me".
