29 minutes in combat class, Jaune is currently pit up against Cardin Winchester. And currently the blonde is just dodging the brute's aggressive offense.

'Hmm this is still weird no matter how much I think about it' Jaune blurted mentally as he was looking at his opponent's next attack before evading it. This made Cardin furious as this has happened for a while now.

"Stop dodging and fight me you coward!" He growled only getting a deadpanned look from Jaune, who continues his evasive manuever before pausing his tracks.

Cardin grinned maliciously as he went for a direct blow with his mace, Executioner. Immediately Jaune parried with his metal pole arm. But he wasn't safe. Cardin's Executioner expelled a powerful explosion at a point blank range forming a huge smoke fog in Jaune's place

Everyone looks with eyes widened. Ruby shouted Jaune's name. Blake's bow twitches at the unsettled fog of smoke. Weiss looked shock before glaring at Cardin. Same with Miss Goodwitch, who was ready to declare the match over but stopped as she saw a peculiar anomaly. The dust settled showing Jaune crouching and unscathed but tears could be seen threatening to trickle down his face.

"Man that's awful" Jaune said coughing dust not acknowledging the incredulous looks he earned from his classmates. Cardin cursed at him and went for another attack. But came to a halt courtesy of the blunt tip of Jaune's pole arm which is lodged onto the brute's breastplate.

'Aura boost + Spear Strike' Jaune thought as he had one more technique up his sleeve. 'Spear Flip!' Jaune casted mentally. Feeling the effects, he proceeded to use his aura reinforced weapon to lift Cardin's body up in a rapid pace, slamming it the cold ground with tremendous force applied.

This resulted to Cardin grunting in pain as his aura dropped from 72 to a worrying 10 percent. Goodwitch declared Jaune as the winner. Much to her suspicions, Miss Goodwitch pointed out his strengths in the match. Stating that his dodging abilities are definitely up there in her class but noted that he shouldn't toy with the opponent lest he wants to be faced with such actions to what Cardin did.

Jaune scratched his cheeks and chuckled nervously at her words. He didn't mean to do such after all and was content on analyzing his opponent's capabilities to gauge their threat level.
That's what he thinks at least. The blonde instructor dismissed Jaune and sent him back to his row. Cardin meanwhile was sent to the nurse's office to recover from his severe back injuries.

----Jaune Arc----

"Next up, Lie Ren vs Sky Lark! Please proceed to the locker room to get your-"
I hear Miss Glynda say before I didn't bother to listen no more as I got back to my team at the spectator seats. I was greeted by my crimsonette teammate jumping giddily around me.

"Jaune! That was awesome!" Ruby shouted with astounding enthusiasm before facing me directly, "You were like swiish, dodge and boom! Then surprised us with being unscathed and slammed Cardin like a hammer!"

I chuckled at her childish portrayal of my movements. It honestly felt anticlimactic fighting Cardin. I mean he is strong, his attack speed and movement is the same but he was just above average compared to the enemies I've had to face or train with. Though that does remind me that I can't really call what Kiyo did as training more like hellish harassment would be a fitting term. I shook my head in dismissal.

'Regardless it was still a win back in my- Wait why is Yang near us!?' I thought. Ruby and I jumped back from her sudden appearance to which she giggled, "You certainly switch my thoughts of you Vomit Boy! Didn't know you can slam trash hard!"
