"Aw! C'mon damn it, get out of my leg already." Blades of grass stabbed your bottom as you attempted to pluck out the metal bullet inside your leg. Crimson blood coated your fingers and some even splattered onto the green grass below. The sun stood high and mighty above the sky, its warmth coated your struggling being like a blanket. Groans escaped your mouth, if you kept this up your leg would start cramping in a matter of seconds. You huffed out a breath.
"This is useless," You mumbled, scratching your butt from the annoying pricks of grass.
You watched the clouds move and dance above you, covering the ball of sunshine that has caused you to have multiple heat strokes in a day and then moved on, following its friends until the end of the world. Your wound wasn't as bad as you thought–well it's still bad, you have a metal object in your body–but blood wasn't flowing out of the wound anymore, which is a good sign, right?
Eyeing the bloody rags that you threw to the side from a fit of rage, you hesitantly grabbed one from the pile and wrapped your leg with it. Maybe this'll do for a while? You limped towards Eli, inhaling a lungful of air, robbing all of the oxygen from the trees around you just for your greedy self.
"Let's go, Eli. We still haven't gotten our bread and wine for Nana. Poor gal will have to wait for another several hours if she wants some." Mounting Eli was more challenging than you thought, with your dominant leg basically being useless, you just have to adapt with your left one for a while.
A long journey of trying to find some bread and wine was ahead of both you and Eli. Oh, the things that you'd do for that Nana of yours, sacrificing your leg just to make her happy.
She better put you in her will, since from the looks of it, that old lady doesn't have a single family left–unless old man George includes as family–which you highly doubt.
The refreshing breeze of summertime wind hits your face, passing through tall trees and bushes along the way; you learned to appreciate the nature surrounding you. Fawns running with their mothers, rabbits hopping along the prairie, a brown bear running after you-
