Halloween is approaching and I'm excited. Christmas is my favourite holiday. But something about Halloween makes it finally fell like fall.

There's leaves on the ground as the trees grow naked. Sunsets are earlier, the air goes from hot to warm during the day and slightly colder with a breeze in the evening.

Sweater weather begins, I can drink warm coffees and only have iced coffee on warmer days and the season brings a cozy vibe to it.

Fall is my favourite season.

I have zero plans for Halloween. The girls and I always stay in that night and go trick or treating with Kinsley. But this year Colton insisted I have fun and live my teenage years while he takes Kinsley trick or treating.

Having Colton around, at first was weird. I wasn't used to not taking Kinsley places or being the one in charge of her. I wasn't used to having time for me.

Now, I enjoy it. I have time to do more things for me and actually take a step back. Im still learning to get used to the lack of responsibilities I have now and know that there is someone to help. It's been nice.

One bright—probably brightest—thing in my life is that miss Fairbourne, Valentina, have been talking so much.

Like last weekend we went out for coffee at a coffee shop near the green park. But that might have been because I bumped into her, on accident.

But still, just the two of us. I don't know.

She hasn't said anything about the kiss we shared in class and I want to talk about it but I don't know how to bring it up.

I mean we message each other all the time, and talk here and there in school but we have never had a conversation about anything between us. It's usually about things like school or interests. Nothing major.

When me and birdie did eventually fill Zoë in on everything, she seemed more happy than I was about it all. We squealed just thinking about it all.

Today is Friday and the school Halloween party is next Friday, that's one thing the girls and I always go to. There's posters plastered everywhere and it's something the girls and I have been trying to find costumes for.

"Okay my vote is we go as animals. Cat, rat and bunny." Birdie said pointing at us individually while we sat around a table for lunch.

"We could go as rock paper scissors, Letty would obviously be scissors." Zoë chimed.

"Zoë!" Both me and birdie said while birdie burst into laughter.

"I'm kidding, but seriously how about prisoners?" Zoë suggested.

"Basic. I feel like it's something everyone would think of. We should be hot that night." Birdie said

"It's a school dance." I said in a matter of fact tone.

"Yeah but still. We should look good, plus crushes might be there." Birdie added with a smirk that Zoë wiggled her eyebrows too.

The thought of seeing miss Fairbourne see me triggered an idea in me and I suddenly knew where they were coming from.

"Okay, yeah. Fairies?" I suggest.

"Ooh maybe, what about like tinker bell characters?" Zoë agreed.

"Yeah or powerpuff girls?" Birdie had an idea. "Wait, let me get some inspo for a minute." She added pulling out her phone.

Zoë and I continued talking about other possible costume ideas going from Alvin and the chipmunks to angles and devils to mean girls and Disney princesses. None of them stuck, we agreed on something that would make us look hot but not overly sexual because it is still school but we were not sure what.
