WARNINGS: mentions being in a hospital and having cancer~*~
Taylor sat in the sterile hospital waiting room, her hands trembling as she clutched her phone tightly in her grip. She had just called her mum, Andrea, to deliver the devastating news about her girlfriend, y/n. The tears that welled up in Taylor's eyes threatened to spill over as she waited anxiously for any updates on y/n's condition. After what felt like an eternity, the doors to the waiting room swung open, and Taylor's heart skipped a beat when she saw her mum walking towards her. Andrea wrapped her arms around Taylor in a tight embrace, offering her daughter some semblance of comfort in the midst of the chaos that had consumed their lives.
The hours ticked by slowly as Taylor sat vigil by y/n's bedside, her eyes never leaving the pale face of her girlfriend. The doctors had just informed Taylor that y/n had come out of surgery, and while they had managed to remove most of the tumor, the prognosis was still uncertain. Taylor's heart clenched in fear as she watched y/n's chest rise and fall in a slow, steady rhythm.
Taylor had called her mom, Andrea, to update her on the situation, and now she sat anxiously waiting for any news on y/n's condition.Hours seemed to drag on as Taylor stared at the unconscious form of her girlfriend. She whispered words of love and encouragement, hoping that somehow y/n could hear her. Finally, the door creaked open and Andrea rushed in, worry etched on her face.
"Taylor, sweetheart, have you eaten anything today? You need to take care of yourself too," Andrea said gently, placing a hand on Taylor's shoulder.
Taylor shook her head, refusing to leave y/n's side even for a moment. "I can't leave her, Mom. I need to be here when she wakes up."
Andrea sighed, knowing that Taylor was stubborn when it came to the ones she loved. "I'll stay with her, you go take a shower and grab something to eat. Trust me, y/n would want you to take care of yourself."
Reluctantly, Taylor nodded and left the room, allowing Andrea to sit by y/n's bedside. She watched as her daughter slowly made her way down the hallway, her heart heavy with worry for both Taylor and y/n.
As the days passed, Taylor remained by y/n's side, refusing to leave even for a moment. Andrea would bring her meals and sit with her, trying to provide comfort and support. Finally, after a week of waiting, y/n began to stir.
Taylor's eyes widened as she saw her girlfriend's eyelids flutter open. "Y/n? Can you hear me?" she whispered, her voice filled with hope.
Y/n groaned softly, her eyes focusing on Taylor's face. "Taylor? What happened?" she asked weakly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Tears filled Taylor's eyes as she leaned in to kiss y/n's forehead. "You had surgery, love. The doctors were able to remove most of the tumor, and you'll be starting chemo soon. You're going to be okay."
Y/n's eyes widened in surprise, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Really? I'm going to be okay?"
Taylor nodded, relief flooding through her. "Yes, really. I love you so much, y/n. I never want to be away from you."
Y/n reached out a shaky hand to cup Taylor's cheek. "I love you too, Taylor. Thank you for being here with me."
As the doctors came in to check on y/n, they confirmed that everything had gone well with the surgery. They assured her that she would be able to start chemo right away and that they were hopeful for her recovery.
Taylor squeezed y/n's hand tightly, tears of joy streaming down her face. "You're going to beat this, y/n. I'll be by your side every step of the way."
