December

I tapped my pencil on my mouth as I layed on my stomach on Aiden's bed. "So why are we sure he's a kid again?"
"Because only a kid would get offended by being called younger. And when I told him he must be in school, he got awkward about it. Plus, I mean, his voice is pretty high. And he told me he's definitely older than 15. So he's anywhere in between 16 and, say, 22."

"Okay... And he makes his own webs?"

"Yup. I saw the machines on his wrists."

"So he's some kind of genius?"
"I guess so."

"Y/n."

"What?"

"If it's possible he's a teenager... and a science genius..."

"No... You don't think..."

"He could go to our school! Maybe Peter really is friends with him! Do you think it could be that Leeds kid?" Aiden asked.

"Umm, no offence to Ned, but he doesn't really have the... physique of Spiderman. And his voice is way different."

Aiden shrugged. "True. Who else is Parker close with?"

"Not sure. I know he's sort of friends with MJ, but I'm pretty sure Spiderman's a dude. Other than that... he doesn't really talk to anyone else."

"Maybe because they don't want anyone suspecting any link."

"Maybe."

"So who has Parker never talked to then?"

"Aiden, I think the school's a little too big for us to determine that."

"Fair point."

"So... what do we have to go on?"

Aiden shrugged. "I think all we can do is have you continue stalking him."

"I guess so." I sighed, checking the time. "Shoot. I should probably get going. I still have some homework I have to get done."

"Okay. See you tomorrow."

"See ya."

I headed out, putting on my winter coat. The temperature had gone down for December, and snow littered the ground. It had been a month since I'd last spoken to Spiderman, and I was starting to get anxious. I only had four more months before my time was up.

I drove home, going immediately up to my room once I got there. I pulled out my maths homework, but there was a knock on the door not long after. "Yeah?" I called.

Eugene opened the door. "Hey, Y/n. Just thought I'd let you know that I'm throwing a party on the last day of school."

I rolled my eyes. "Fantastic," I said sarcastically.

"You don't have to come," he scoffed. "Just sleep over at Aiden's house, for all I care."

"But Aiden loves parties, and he'll kill me if I'm not there. He'll recruit Betty and Jason to track me down."

Eugene shrugged. "Just tell him you don't wanna go."

"Yeah, we'll see."

My brother finally left me alone. I finished my homework and shoved everything back in my bag, before climbing out my window and onto the roof. My bedroom was on the top floor, so all I had to do was climb out my window and crawl up a bit to get to the very top. That was my safe place. When I was up there, everyone in the house just assumed I was gone. No one bothered me.

I sighed, closing my eyes and letting the breeze push my hair back.

"Well don't you look comfortable," a voice said.
