2 Scratches and 3 Taps on the Knee - Ch. 8

You hear a tap on the window and you look over to see Dan smiling awkwardly outside. You unlock the car. *Click* He gets in and you two sit there for a couple seconds.

"I'm really sorry."

"About what?", you say with a smile.

"I don't know. Hey you uhh... wanna get outta here? I just feel like we need to do something fun"

You look at Dan, he's smiling. You never realized how beautiful he was. How his brown eyes glimmered in the light and how tall he was compared to you. Am I falling for Dan? Do I 'like' him? I-I think I .... DO. You suddenly realize how long you had been staring at him so you look away and smile. "Yah sure. Where to?" 

"Anywhere. I don't have any where to be."

"Ok", you say as you start to feel butterflies in your stomach.

You arrive and Dan looks confused. "Where are we?"

"The Bumper. I used to go here in college with my friends. It's a nightclub, you okay with that?" All the beautiful memories start flooding back as you get out of the car.

"Haha yah. So what did you major in, in college?"

"Game Design. I minored in Film and Animation if you were wondering", you giggle.

"So do you play a lot of video games?"

"Yes! All the time! I love first person shooter games, those are my favorites."

You go inside the club and you two take a seat in the corner booth. Dan scoots closer to you as he seems uncomfortable at the club. It's ok though because you like how close he is to you. He turns to face you and realizes how close you two are. He blushes a bit but doesn't scoot back. You smile.

"So what do you want to drink", he says trying to get his mind off the awkwardness.

"Maybe just some vodka." 

"Would you like a chaser with that?", says the waitress. She's obviously eyeing Dan and totally uninterested with your order. Dan doesn't seem to notice and you weren't the jealous type anyways. "No"

"Are you sure? Is it your first time drinking?" You giggle at the waitress since she is obviously trying to sound mean. 

"No. Does a man named Kyle work here by any chance?"

"Yah sure I'll get him for you", she seemed sad by the fact that she wouldn't be serving Dan anymore but she also didn't seem to care that much.

"I didn't even get to order", Dan says playfully while you giggle. Finally Kyle arrives and you suddenly get up and hug him and he hugs back. You say hi and how have you been to each other for a few seconds until you remember Dan. You turn around to face him and introduce them to each other. "Kyle, Dan. Dan, Kyle" A wide grin spreads across your face as they say hi to each other. Dan seemed a bit awkward and jealous so you decided to explain. "Dan, Kyle is my best friend but he's more like my older brother."

Dan's POV

'Whew! I thought they were like together or something! I do feel a bit jealous of Kyle getting to hang out with her more than I do. i believe y/n when she says that her Kyle are just friends but i have to make sure.' - Dan thought. Y/n goes to use the restroom while Dan is left to order. "So Y/n is probably gonna get what she usually does. Vodka no chaser, right?"

"Yah. So how long have you guys been friends?"

"Well she's 22 now and I've known her since high school so about 8 and a half years. Anyways what are you gonna drink?"

"I'll just have a beer. Sooo... do you like... fancy her by any chance?"

Kyle bursts out into tears laughing and Dan gets confused by this. When he finally gets himself together, he says, "Oh honey! I am %100 gay! So you know if you ever..." 

"Oh hey look it's y/n!" Kyle laughs obviously just kidding and walks away with the order.

'Well that was embarrassing... Just another thing to add to my list of awkward things and embarrassing moments' - Dan thinks as he mentally slaps himself at the embarrassment.

Y/N POV

As you walk out of the restroom you see Kyle scratch his nose twice then taps his knee 3 times. Being best friends, you had your own language and you understood what he meant. Dan... likes you.
