Aiden's POV:

Class passed in a haze as I stared at the whiteboard, occasionally blinking to break me out of my trance.

It felt like my brain was floating away, my consciousness drifting-

BRINGGG

Oh, come on, I was having my moment. At least the bell anchored my mind back inside my head. I dragged myself up from my chair, going over to Matteo. The sight of his warm brown eyes made me smile, my heart going significantly faster. (He's down bad fr)

I dragged him with me to go kick some kids off the swing set. Good thing Isabella was too engaged in an argument with her other friends, otherwise I would have gotten burnt to crisp if looks could kill.

(A/N: I got writer's block) (Edit: I'm back)

The rest of the day passed in a blur. Education was merely a side hobby compared to the future my father had planned for me. Yet in my dark, controlling world, there was him, the sunshine on a cloudy day, the cool, safe haven for me to rest when the heat beats down ruthlessly on me. Your smile, your gentle gaze when we sat in comfortable silence next to each other today, watching the younger (Naive, foolish peasants) grades run around is the single highlight of my day.

Your warm, warm smile is the only thing that keeps me going.

Yet I cannot help but notice when she gets too close.
