Hello, I'm Tam. I live in a small village in North Korea, together with my family: my parents and my wise but fragile grandfather, who, despite the dangers, secretly listens to banned radio stations to get an idea of the outside world. Many people only know North Korea as a country under a harsh dictatorship, characterized by isolation and difficult living conditions. That is the harsh reality. I would like to tell you about my family's escape, about our courageous step away from oppression and towards the hope of freedom. Through our story, I strive to give you a deeper understanding of real life in North Korea and why the decision to flee became so inevitable.
