Chapter XI

It had been only a few hours since Yor had retreated to her room for the night.
She tossed and turned in bed as she heard the clock's hand shifting.
Hugging the pillow like it was some treasure, she thought to herself, 'Ugh, I can't sleep.'
Groaning loudly she turned to lay on her side, looking at the bright full moon.

She clicked her tongue before bringing herself to a sitting position, springing up the bed and walking out to get some fresh air. She walked to the balcony, getting goosebumps on her skin as the cool breeze hits her skin.

"Yor?" A familiar voice called out. The blonde turned to look at her walking to the balcony and scooted a bit, tapping on the spot next to him. "You should go to sleep. It's almost 2 in the morning." He stated, his eyes fixated on her before looking at the clear night sky. The stars twinkled throughout the dark sky. The constellations were distinct and if you looked closely you may see the planet Mars in the form of a bright red star.

"Can't sleep." Yor took a deep breath and leaned back onto the bench. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "I see." He replied. Not too long, the silence already started dominating the atmosphere and all they could hear was the sound of the gentle breeze and some crickets.

"So Yor," he finally decided to break the ice "Would you like to go somewhere right now? It's quite the perfect time." He waited for her reply.

"Where to?"

"You'll see."

She agreed. Loid got onto his feet, lending her a hand.

"Where are we going?" Yor asks, her curiosity growing every second. Loid smiled as he continued driving. After what felt like forever, he gently took her hand and placed her down from the car on her feet.

Above them were beautiful cherry blossom trees. The branches swayed in the breeze while countless shades of pink and white fell almost like rain towards the ground. She gasped at the sight and looked at Loid.

Yor POV

I couldn't hide the smile forming on my lips. Just then, I suddenly felt strong, muscular arms wrapped around me from behind and someone's hot breath on my shoulder. It was Loid.

"I know I don't say this often but I thank you for being such an amazing wife and mother. I really appreciate everything you've done for us," He paused, "I promise to protect and cherish you and our family until the end. And I just want to say..."

"I love you and only you."

I was speechless, my eyes widened and lips slightly parted. I turned around to face him and hugged him back.

"I feel the same way."

I closed my eyes as Loid tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. His hands were warm and rough, and I liked the feeling.

I could feel my heart racing as he pressed his soft lips on my forehead. I desperately wanted to feel them on mine.
"You're everything I've ever wanted, Yor." His gentle voice vibrated against my skin, causing me to squirm in his embrace.

He looked into my crimson eyes, gulping as he leaned in closer, our noses now touching. I felt my heart fluttered in my chest and butterflies in my stomach. Although it technically wasn't my first time kissing the man, it sure felt like it. I closed my eyes in apprehension as he tilted his head slightly to meet my lips. This was it... this was the moment.

His lips were finally pressed up against mine.
