12. Can't believe it

Today's a new day. Match day -1. We've been going over plays and tactics for a while now. Jonas just started talking about ways we can defend against Chelsea and what he think will work but I can't help but disagree a bit.

"Uh Jonas." I says hesitatingly.

"Yes Izzi?" He says with a smile. I look at Lotte and she nods her head for me to talk.

"Well uh if we ran a 4-2 defensive shape instead. We would have two deep midfielders like Wally and Vic for example playing deep and aggressive centrally, we would be able to control the middle of the field. With this we would be able to keep Kerr where we want her and not let her or anyone else slip through." I explain. I look up from my notes and everyone's just... smiling. I look at Lotte confused and she just shakes her head.

"Ahh yes that would work great. I also think Wally and Vic would be perfect for that role. Great work." Jonas says and I can't help but smile. It feels good to be heard. Jonas goes onto explain the new plan and we all put our input in and build upon each other's strengths.

*time skip*

"I can't believe we're gonna be playing together again." Lotte says with a sigh as we walk out of the meeting room. We had just found out we both will be in the starting lineup tomorrow against Chelsea.

"Me either. We're gonna be living out our dream. Sold out emirates, arsenal badge on our chest, and we're doing it together." I say as i smile just thinking about it. After my signing was announced ticket sales went a little crazy. People weren't expecting me to sign with arsenal after being with man city for 10 years. People are either ecstatic or... well pissed.

Lotte just smiles and leans into me hugging my waist as I wrap my arms around her neck. We continue walking to the locker room with our arms around one another. As we walk in the girls look towards the door and smile.

"How cute." Leah teases. I roll my eyes but smile at her. I let go of Lotte as I head to my locker. I give Alessia a smile as I sit down and start to pack my bag. I soon get all packed and as I stand up to leave my phone goes off. Lucy. I answer the phone putting it to my ear as I grab my bag.

"Izzi!" Lucy says excitedly.

"Hey Luce." I say with a laugh amused at her excitement.

"Hey I'm here too." Keira says.

"Hey kei." I say with a laugh. She does know I can't see her right?

"Is everything alright?" I ask.

"Oh yeah. We're at training right now. I just wanted to call and see how everything's going since we didn't get to talk yesterday." Lucy says.

"Oh yeah. Hold on just a sec." I say and she gives me and okay. I turn to the girls as I get to the door and say "bye guys." They all say something back and I start my walk to my car.

"Sorry Luce. So- oh yeah. Everything good. The girls are all really nice. The staff is great. I'm really happy." I say with a sigh as I sit in my car. I really am. I'm glad I signed here.

"That's great Iz. I'm proud of you know." Lucy says. I take a second to respond. That means a lot coming from her.

"Thank you Lucy." I say completely serious as I start pulling out of the training grounds. I wave to a few of the girls as I leave.

"Are you ready for the game tomorrow?" Lucy asks.

"I'm more than ready. I can't believe I'm actually going to walk out at the Emirates as a gooner. I mean Lotte and I talked about this as kids but now it's actually happening and tickets sold out today." I say as I reminisce once again.

"Everyone wants to see you play. I can't wait to see you show the world why you're truly the best player in the world." Lucy says.

"I'm not Lucy. But I'm gonna show everyone what I'm made of." I say determined. If I wasn't determined before my move to arsenal I definitely am now. Lucy sighs at my reluctance but we keep talking for a few until she has to get back to training. I get a quick goodbye from Keira as well before we hang up. I'm gonna show everyone tomorrow.
