15. Bus ride

What a day...

As I reach the dressing room I can already hear the girls singing along to the loud music.  I open the door I see most the girls dancing away. I cant help but laugh.

They all cheer as I walk in giving me pats on the back as i make it towards my cubby next to Alessia with a big smile on my face.

*ALESSIA's POV*

"I didn't know you were a goalie." I tease Izzi as we both get dressed and done.

"Me neither." She jokes back with a smile. That save was just brilliant and her reaction afterwards was just adorable.

"You played amazingly." I say as I look towards her. Damn. I watch as she puts her shirt on covering her defined abs and mus- I need to stop.

Izzi smiles and says "All thanks to you. I mean you put those balls on a plate!"

"That was not all me!" I say with a laugh she just smiles and shakes her head. Soon enough we all finished getting done and someone comes and tells us it's time to leave.

Izzi stands up from beside me and holds her hand out for me to grab which I do and stand up. I can't help but smile at her. She's so sweet. I can feel butterflies in my stomach as she smiles back.

Lotte comes over and Izzi wraps her arm around Lottes shoulder as they walk. There relationship reminds me a lot of mine and Ella's. There's just some people who are your platonic soulmates... I know mines Ella. There definitely one another's. Izzi acts like she's just this tough guy. But I see right through it. She really just a softy.

*IZZI's POV*

"-Wasn't it?" I say and turn to Alessia who seems to be out of it.

"Alessia." I say trying to get her attention but nothing. I put my hand on her shoulder and that seems to do the trick. Her body relaxes and she turn to me.

"I uh sorry what were you saying?" She says with a little smile.

"Oh it's nothing are you alright?" I ask softly and she nods with a smile. What had her so spaced out?

We make it out to the bus and I hold out my hand for Lotte bags and she just hands it over  knowing I won't take no for an answer. I do the same with Alessia and she just looks at me confused.

"Come on I'll put it under." I say with a smile.

"Oh. Uh thank you." She says and gives me a smile while handing her bag to me.

The girls walk onto the bus and I put our bags under then join them. I sit down in the same seat but this time I'm across from Lotte and next to Alessia.

"IZZI!" Katie yells as she catches a glimpse of me.

"What's up McCabe?" I say with a smile.

"I am SO fucking glad you're on our team now." She says with her Irish accent. I'm am to. The girls all laugh and giggle. My self included. I'm glad she feels that way to be honest.

"Well I'm glad to be here. You all are a ball to play with. Everyone played great. " I say.

"Nah mate. This was your match you were everywhere!" She says loudly.

"Even a keeper!" Someone yells and the girls laugh. I just smile.

"Nah all you guys." I say and wave them off.

"She's not gonna take your compliments." Lotte says from beside me as she shakes her head with a smile. I just kick her foot lightly.

"Oh come on. Why not?" Beth whines with a laugh.

"She's like Viv." Lotte says and all the girls seem to understand. It's not like I can't take a compliment. It's just that I don't need them. A performance isn't based solely on me. It's a team effort. Those around me make me better therefore even if I had a good game that means we all had one in a way... If that makes sense.

"Two goats unknowing of there greatest." Kyra mutters with an eye roll. The girls all laugh but agree.

"Well uh thank you?" I say more as a question. The girls laugh.
