20. Notebook

It's been about a week now and since Alessia and I spent that day together and we've gotten even closer.

I mean since then I've gotten closer with all the girls but... something... Something about Alessia is different it's like there's a pull or something. I'm probably just delusional...

I'm pretty sure the girls have gotten comfortable around me as they all seem to be more care free and relaxed around me. Which I'm more than happy about. I feel like I've opened up more to them but Ive still kept my guard up more than most. We've also been playing wonderfully together in training.

Lotte and I have also been acting as if I'm not staying here since I've signed. I don't think it's clicked in our heads quite yet.

We've been attached at the hip constantly and I'm not complaining. I've missed my best friend. But now as I'm laying on the pitch after training has just ended staring at the surprisingly blue sky above me and Lottes surprisingly not next to me Kyra decides to take the piss.

"Where's your other half?" She asked as she joins me, Beth, Viv, and Steph. I close my eyes against the bright sun groaning.

"Kyra if I didn't know you were a footballer I'd think you were a comedian." I tease not turning towards her as she plops down on my legs.

Kyra and I have unexpectedly gotten close since I signed. But I'm not complaining we both like to mess about sometimes. One more than the other...

I groan as she lands on my legs. I shove her off playfully.

"Funny." She says and stick her tongue out.

"You are funny looking." I say and tilt my head.

"OI!" She says and jumps on me.

"KYRA. Get off!" Steph says trying to be serious but fails as she starts laughing. Beth and Viv next to her matching her as they tried to hide their laughs. 

I put my hands on Kyra stomach and push her up as if she's a bar bell.

"OMG!" She yells happily.

I slowly stand up with her still in my arms. Making sure she won't fall.

"Caitlin I'm like fucking Superman or something!" She yells as the girls walk over. They all start laughing.

I'm literally holding Kyra in the air like a child as she poses like Superman with her hand out and her legs up. The girls take picture as they laugh and giggle. I soon set Kyra down and lay down on the grass once again. Closing my eyes as I lay next to the girls as they chat about.

We have a game in a few days. We leave to head up to Aston villa tomorrow. We talked tactics this morning before training and I think we'll do well. I feel quite confident. The girls and myself have become comfortable with each other's movement and it seems to just become easier and easier everyday. I've also been watching film as I normally do since. Speaking of I still need to finish the match I was on.

"I'm gonna head in. I'll talk to you lot later yeah?" I say and the girls nod and wave me goodbye.

*time skip*

I've been watching film for around an hour or two. I've been taking notes and working out tactics as well as continuing to learn how each player moves on and off the ball. This is my process. When I do this I feel calm and confident in my abilities on the field. I'm the same way in the gym and on the field.

"Whatcha up to?" Alessia asks as she walks into the dining hall. Grabbing a water as she walks over to me.

"Just studying." I say as I look up to her giving her my full attention.

"We went through things earlier." She says with a little smile. True we did have a meeting.

"I know but I just like to be throughout." I say with a little laugh. She rolls on the balls of her feet as she glances at my notebook.

"Come here." I say with a smile and pat the chair beside me. She smiles and walks over to me as I pull a chair out for her. She sits down and I put my notebook in front of her.

"I go through every recent match the team has played. I watch player movements on and off the ball. As well as try to workout any new tactics they may have." I explain.

"Wow. That's quite cool." Alessia says as she looks at my notebook. I smile at her even though she isn't looking. She actually seems to be... interested.

"I uh thanks. It's just my way of preparing I guess." I say as I scratch my neck.

"I've been doing it all my career." I say as I grab my notebook and flip through the pages.

"So you have notes on me?" She ask tilting her head. Oh god.

*ALESSIA's POV*

"I- uh ya I do." Izzi says as she scratches the back of her neck. Her confident demeanor faltering for a moment.

She flips through her notebook before finally landing on a page. She sighs and pushes it in front of me.

"I don't have to look." I say not wanting to over step.

"No uh no you can. It's alright." She says with a smile. I look at her once more unsure and she gives me a nod and a smile. I smile back and grab the notebook.

I start from the top It's from when I played at united. I read the first page. How the hell did she know our tactics? She has them all worked out.

Wow. This is... impressive.

I look to the next page and she has information about every player I look through and finally see my name.

Written below my name is descriptions of certain movement I do as well as how I play the ball. Which is all true. I'm almost learning about myself as I read this. Under all the nitty gritty there's a little side note.

"Need to run a tight defense. She can and will find the cracks and use them to her advantage. Skilled on and off the ball. Quick runs. One of the best. Needs to be defended as such."

I read it and look up at her as she looks up at the ceiling before meeting my eyes. She thinks that about me. That- that gives me a lot of confidence to be honest. I don't even know what to say.

"Thank you." I say softly. As I look at her my eyes full of admiration and gratitude. You would feel the same if one of the best player in the world described you that way... don't make fun of me.

"It's just the truth less." She says sincerely as she looks into my eyes. God she has such beautiful eyes...
