Emily POV:
We have been hiding in the closets for two agonizing minutes, holding our breaths and praying for our survival. The sound of gunfire and explosions is deafening, the horror and hopelessness is eating us, but somehow, we still cling to a faint glimmer of hope that we will make it out alive.
"Sam?" I'm trying to say.
"yes" he answers.
"Remember when we were young and used to play hide and seek?" I whispered.
"Yeah, especially when you'd hide in the closet every time."
My gaze softened. "And you'd find me so fast, like you had sixth sense."
"It feels the same know, but the difference is that I'm hiding with you." I can know he is smiling even when I can't see him.
"Shut up"
The sound of gunfire is getting louder, the sound of screams as well.
Chaos.
Chaos.
The sound chaos is so loud I can't hear anything anymore.
I put my hands on both ears, trying to ignore, but it's impossible. Then I closed my eyes try to imagine my mom's face because its reliefs me. I remember her comforting smile, her kisses on my cheeks, the warmth in her hugs, the sweet scent of cherries that surrounded her, and the melody in her laugh. Despite not knowing her well, these fragments provided a brief sanctuary, offering relief amid the overwhelming chaos.
"Emily," I hear Sam saying hardly, "I think they'll enter the room, try to get ready."
"Ready?" I asked with tears falling dawn my tears "Ready for what, to die?"

The sounds have calm dawn, that because they killed all of the school, I guess.
The door is being opened. I can hear it.
THE DOOR IS BEING OPENED.
My heart pounds, the suspense heightening as the door slightly open. The ominous sound of footsteps grows louder, each step echoing closer to my ear. His hands graze the closet, gripping it beside mine. With a swift motion, he opens it, but the search reveals nothing.
Suddenly, the room erupts with gunfire, shattering the tense silence. As the smoke clears, my closet slights open, revealing not the initial gunman but a different figure. Dressed immaculately in a sleek tactical black suit, he is fully armed, a contrasting twist to the previous threat.
The mysterious figure in the sharp suit pulls out an object resembling a gun. Time slows as he takes aim, the barrel pointing directly at me. A surge of fear courses through my veins, and before I can react, a shot ring out.
Pain radiates from my neck as the bullet finds its mark. Everything blurs, and I feel my legs give way beneath me. The room spins, the once vivid colors now muted.
Sam
