Sara glanced across the packed room towards Kris, and her heart raced. His face was shadowed by the low illumination, highlighting the worried lines that were engraved there. Out of dread and uncertainty, their covert connection had evolved into a delicate dance and a tacit understanding.

The excitement of sneaking about had been thrilling in the beginning. But now, with their deceit bearing down on them like a heavy load, they were on the brink of discovery. Though it broke Sara's heart, she understood that hiding their love would keep her brother Bojan safe and their band's harmony intact.

Sara and Kris stealthily glanced at each other while Jan, Nace, Jure and Bojan laughed and joked around them, their silent connection clearly communicating something. They yearned to be free to exchange snatched kisses and grasp hands without worrying about repercussions. But for the time being, the chains of concealment still held them down.

When the others eventually left, Sara was left in the silent studio by herself with Kris. As they faced one another, the soft glimmer of the moonlight coming through the window exposing their emotions, the air crackled with tension.

Sara said, "I hate this," her voice quivering with anguish. "I hate having to hide how I feel about you."

Kris extended his arm and cupped her face tenderly in his palms. "Love, I know. However, we agreed to keep this between ourselves until the appropriate moment."

Sara nodded, tears still welling up in her eyes. "I just wish that time would hurry up and come."

Their hug was short-lived yet comforting in an uncertain environment; it was bittersweet. They were aware that the delicate equilibrium they had laboriously maintained would be in jeopardy if their secret was kept a secret for too long.

However, for the time being, they held onto one another and found comfort in the warmth of their love. For a few while, they were able to be who they truly were in the peaceful haven of the night.
