Adriana's POV

I was seated at the front of the room around complete strangers. Romeo left me alone to mingle with his guests. Not that him being here would make this any better. At the moment I was just happy to be eating my first meal of the day.

A middle aged woman approached me with a smile. We were making casual conversation before she started asking too many questions about how I met Romeo how long we have been together. All questions I had no answer to. Just as I started to panic the DJ announced it was time for our first dance.

"Please excuse me." I said to her and pushed in my hair.

I was scanning the room when he finally caught my eye. He met me on the dance floor in the middle of every one. He pulled me in and placed his hands around my waist. I tensed up immediately.

"Relax" he whispered loud enough for only me to hear.

I nodded my head and tried not to seem so robotic, this whole encounter is just awkward for me. The dance finally came to an end after what felt like an eternity.

He led me to the front of the room again, this time sitting next to me. Maybe I should've warned him about the woman with all of the questions. She is still sitting in the same spot I left her.

"Romeo Valentino!" The lady shouted at him

"Hi aunt Ruby" he leaned over and hugged her.

"I would like to know why you have had this beautiful lady hidden away from the world" she questioned while he laughed

"No seriously I want all the details! Why did we just find out about her?"

I shifted in my seat hoping he was prepared to answer questions from her or anyone else.

"Well aunt Ruby we met when I had was working on a business deal with her father" he mentioned my papas name to her like they knew each other.

"It was love at first sight!" I chimed in

"That was a few years ago.. we just wanted to make sure it would work before we entered the public eye" he stated

Why would I say that? Romeo doesn't look mad that I said it. He's just constantly worried about his image but he has actually been tolerable the whole time we've been here, nothing like I expected. He seems heavily family oriented and a bit charming, also a good liar, but i know what he is capable of.

Ruby expressed how sorry she was for my loss. If only she knew her nephew was forcing this on me and completely disrespecting my papa.

We had a few drinks and wrapped up our conversation with aunt ruby. We said our goodbyes while thanking everyone for coming.

Our driver pulled up out front, Romeo opened the door and we got in.
