Romeo's POV

As we entered the dining room I could see Adriana comforting my sniffling mother. Dante ruined everything like always.

"Im sorry Ma." I said while giving her a hug.

She squeezed me tight before releasing and told me to have a seat.

I sat next to Adriana and across from my father preparing myself for some lecture.

"So I assume the two of you are getting along well?" My father asked.

I held my breath because it was obvious the question was directed towards Adriana. Im not scared of much but i was terrified of what she might say.

"Things are going well, we are just getting used to being newly weds." Adriana said with a polite smile.

I let out a sigh of relief and sat back in my chair. My father made it very clear that I have no choice but to make this work. I hate that Im stuck with her. I despise her.

"Im very glad to hear that. Has the consummation of marriage been done?"
My father began to pry.

I slightly choked on the sip of water i had just taken. I looked at Adriana to see her face wearing a bright color of pink. I quickly looked away refusing to make eye contact with her or anyone.

"You know we need an heir and the faster we make that happen the better you look." Said my Father

"Everyone loves a family man." My mother chimed in

"Image is everything." My father insisted

The awkwardness was interrupted when staff brought our dinner.

I ate the delicious meal while listening to the conversation that had thankfully shifted.

"Your father was a great man, I am grateful to have his daughter as my nuora." My father said to Adriana

"That means a lot." She said thanking him

She accepted the compliment but I know that probably made her upset. My father is the reason we are in this situation. Im not mad at him for it, I know it had to happen but why did it have to be someone so annoying?

Conversations continued until it was time for usto head home.

"I know you aren't enjoying life as a couple yet but i know love will grow." My mother said sure of herself while hugging us both.

Adriana thanked my parents for dinner and we left. I love them but they are exhausting.

When we arrived home i took the keys out of the ignition and just sat there, in the dark. I looked at Adriana who looked a bit confused.

"What?" She asked with a puzzled look

"lOvE WiLl gRoW" i said making fun of my mother

She tried hard not to laugh but failed. This was the first time i had seen her genuinely smile. After we had our laugh we got out of the car. The walk up to the house felt like eternity. I am more than ready for bed.

I told Adriana she didn't have to stay confined in her room anymore, she gave me a nod and we went our separate ways. I almost felt bad for her.
