Finding Solace in the Abyss

' Leonard, gather courage and fight back ', said Nema. ' Nema, my queen till today I curse myself for not saving you from that deadly fire. How miserable of a man I am. I am worthless of being called one. Countless days pass by but never have I being able to enjoy a comfortable sleep. I ask the Almighty why have I been given such a life where there are no loved ones of mine remaining. ', replied Leonard. ' Your view on life is that of a pessimist. If you believe everything that crosses your path impacts you in a negative way then you will not be able to appreciate it's innumerable blessings that it has bestowed upon you. ', said Nema. ' Blessings? witnessing mass scale murders of people who held importance in my life is a blessing ? no it is even worse than a curse. ', replied Leonard. ' If your understanding of life has lead you to such conclusion then answer my question, why are you still alive now or what is stopping you from commiting suicide after you have witnessed such fate? ', asked Nema. Leonard was quiet for a long time before answering. ' This is a hard question to answer ', he replied. ' I shall answer, it is because you and only you have been gifted with spiritual and demonic protection ', replied Nema. ' I can't understand. What do you mean to say? ', asked Leonard. ' I mean you are guided by both good and evil forces of nature. They are helping you in every step. The good side is you and your evil side is our son ', replied Nema. ' No! that is complete nonsense. I don't believe it. Our son is not evil. ', protested Leonard. ' I believe our son is not evil but Leonard do you ever stop to muse over the fact that how many times have you been faced with injustice. Since, your childhood days you have been constantly been treated like a nobody. You have suffered humilation every time but you chose to stay quiet hoping that someday the humiliators would understand. Leonard, this is God's punishment to you for not protesting against injustice. This is only because of your kindness you are alive and it is only your kindness that is giving you a slow painful death. What is gone can't be changed but you can begin and change the ending. ', said Nema. ' You are saying that just because I am too kind,I am being punished and blessed at the same time? ', replied Leonard with bewilderment. ' Leonard, to end this constant cycle of suffering, you need to give up on your kindness and fight against injustice. Please befriend the beast within you. I am always on your side dear. ', said Nema. Nema started to disappear. Leonard tried to catch her hand but he couldn't move. He screamed , ' Don't leave, don't leave !!! '. With shock, terror and agony, Leonard opened his eyes only to realise it is a dream. He saw Winston by his side. ' What a relief, the Father of my master has finally awakened. ', he said. Leonard sat on the bed with closed eyes. After a few minutes he rose with an unfamiliar demeanor on his face. He called out Winston and said, ' Winston, the suffering will end now. My enemies have always underestimated me. Tell Mabael not to hold back in this fight. I will fight along his side. Tell him not to show any mercy to Aaron and Samuel. I want them to feel the agony I am bearing so that not even their souls in a milenia think of reincarnating again on this Earth. This is an order not a request. ', said Leonard. ' Your wish is my command Sir ', replied Winston.

' We can't afford to lose Father. I can't see my father sitting so helplessly. ', said Samuel. ' Son, you shouldn't hurry. I too want revenge but what scares me is not Leonard but his son. I couldn't even imagine his son to be a literal incarnation of the devil we have heard in stories. His presence was so demonic. I question whether he is even a human or not. ', said Aaron. ' Demon or human I don't care. Whatever he is I will crush him under my feet and bring Leonard back here again. ', said Samuel.
