Chapter 4: Prince to Servant

Loki knew damn well that soon the owner of the apartment complex and his landlord would figure out he's been giving them fake money that he magically whipped up for a long time now and, putting it lightly, he may or may not have almost gotten caught a couple times. "But im a prince" he said to himself then reality slapped him in the face again with the old "your not a fucking pretty princess no more Loki, you gotta work now sorry bitch this is Midgard get the fuck used to it pretty boy" and he shoved THAT voice out of his head for a bit longer until he decided he couldn't ignore it because 1 it's getting annoying, and 2 he's getting tired of sitting around in his apartment and needs SOMETHING to do. It was February now so he sighed, put on his best suit, made a resumè (because he heard that's what Midgardians do for applying to a job) an headed out to apply for a job. The first place Loki stopped by for an interview is a fast food chain called "Chick-Fil-A" but as soon as he walked in he turned right fucking around. There was no way in hell he could be THAT nice for THAT amount of time, it didn't matter how much money they paid, it wasn't happening. Loki decided to check out another place called "Starbucks" which is apparently very popular here on Midgard. He walked in and got an interview and seemed to be pretty impressed plus everyone kind of minded their on business anyway. After the Interview he put that at the top of his list. Next he checked out a place called "Costco" it was a grocery store. They needed people to stock things which seems pretty easy to Loki plus he doesn't have to deal with as many people so after the interview he put Costco right next to Starbucks on his list. Loki found another place called "Apple" he realized it was the same brand of phone he had so he just said fuck it and went to go interview there. They interviewed him and said he would know if he hit the job in a couple of weeks. Two weeks later Loki got a job at Apple and headed in on his first day. It wasn't bad either, he got to be by himself mostly and no one really bothered him, his main was the Technical Support Technician basically he's just fixing broken iPhones, laptops, computers, AirPods, etc. He was really good at it and his boss Tim Cook or just Mr. Cook who's the CEO of Apple was very impressed and paid Loki 35 per hour that's a Salary of over 75,000 a year. After his first day Loki felt pretty confident in his job, he liked it way more than any other job he tried to sign himself up for. At Apple he had his own Desk, he didn't have to talk to people all day, he could be by himself, and it was a pretty chill work environment too. Loki went to work and showed up on time perfectly every time. His days were Mondays 9-5, Tuesdays 5-1, Wednesdays off, Thursdays 9-5, Fridays 5-1, and Saturdays 5-1, and he had Sundays off as well, and Loki specifically requested Wednesdays to be off work (you know why 💚😏). Here's how a normal day for Loki would start. He would wake up around 6 am, eat a small breakfast with his morning tea obv, shower, brush his teeth, clothes, hair, grab his stuff, and head out the door. He gets to the huge building, walks inside, checks in, and sets his stuff up in his cubicle and goes through some paperwork before working on electronics for Apple and directions for others to fix it themselves at home online as well. His boss is always telling him he's doing good but Loki being Loki he just shrugs it off and says thank you anyway. 3 Weeks into his job he's getting burnt out already but apparently that's "normal" so he doesn't say much about it. 4 weeks in he can see why humans hate to work. At first it wasn't bad, pretty chill, he was getting used to it, until he wasn't. Six weeks in he felt like every other human now, dreading Mondays, tryna make it to Friday, shots after a shift at work, the usual. Butttttt, he got real money to pay for everything so that's a plus. He went from week 1, "oh this isn't so bad it's actually quite nice in here" to week 7 "I hate it here, it's too early for this, I need therapy, I despise everyone" you know, the works.
