XIII

Chapter XIII
No One POV

Finally after almost two hours of sitting there bored Present Mic came to the stage and started explaining the rules. Katsuki paid no attention as he already knew the rules after Izuku had rambled about them a long time ago. Izuku had made a very good point about how the practical was nowhere near fair for everyone and was only fair for people with quirks that enhanced something to do with their physical state.
He was just minding his own business when a blue haired male had to call him out for not paying attention. "If you do not want to pay attention to the rules then you should not be here." The blue haired male said making a chopping motion with his hands. "There is also the zero pointer, which will not earn you any points for taking it down, and is more of an obstacle that you must work around." Katsuki said glaring at the male.

He had perfectly explained what Present Mic was just about to start explaining. "He is correct, there is a zero pointer, which is an invention of Nezu's and should probably be avoided." Present Mic said with a smile. He had no clue how Katsuki knew that but he just went along with it.
Finally after what seemed to be forever it was actually time to take the practical exam. He was sorted with a group of students. He didn't pay much attention but he did happen to notice that the blue haired guy was in the same group as him.

"Alright! Go!" Present Mic shouted at the doors opened. Katsuki immediately sprang into action, he didn't even have to wait for a countdown, he knew there were no countdowns, why should there be, you don't get a countdown with a real villain. Izuku had pounded this into his head. "The blonde male has the right idea, there are no countdowns in a real battle!" Present Mic shouted causing all the other contests to spring into action. They were still quite a bit behind Katsuki who had already blown up a couple 1 pointers and a 3 pointer.

He had immediately sprung into action firing good sized explosions at the robots before using a small explosion to shoot himself upwards and land on the robot making it crash to the ground. This worked extremely well. As the timer ticked he started getting more impatient and started landing on the robots pressing his hands against it's head and then firing a small explosion which caused the head to explode and fry the robot's circuits.

He paused for a second when the ground shook. He quickly took out the robot beneath him before launching himself up on top of one of the buildings. There he saw in the distance was the large looming figure of the zero pointer.

Katsuki couldn't help but feel like something was wrong, but he couldn't quite place what it was. Then he heard it. A scream. He looked quickly and saw a brown haired girl trapped beneath some boulders, the zero pointer heading straight for her. He immediately sprung into action, using small explosions to get himself to the girl quickly. Then standing over her he stopped. He faced his hands upwards and waited. He had to time this perfectly if he wanted it to work. 

Just as the zero pointer went to step on them Katsuki let out his two largest explosions causing everyone's ears to ring at the very loud noise. Katsuki closed his eyes at the light and when he opened them again a huge crater had formed around them. The edges of buildings were gone, melted metal dripped from the charred forms. He looked forward and saw that only the other leg remained of the zero pointer remained. It fell to the ground with a crash and then he turned to the girl. He pulled one of the larger boulders off of her and then helped her up, her left ankle was twisted at an odd angle.

A couple medics rushed over to them. Katsuki helped them get the girl on a stretcher and then he was approached by an old woman he recognized as Recovery Girl. He gave a slight bow to her before she started to speak. "Let me see your hands deary, those size of explosions must have done at least a little bit of damage." She told him.

He knew better than to fight against her and held out his hands. He had second degree burns on both of his palms and fingers. She pecked his hand, and with a wave of slight exhaustion his hands were healed. "They will be sore for a couple days but other than that you should be fine." She told him with a smile. "Thank you." He said quietly giving her a small nod.
"You're welcome deary, that was a very brave thing you did." She said before giving him a smile and then walked away healing some of other teens injuries. Meanwhile when the large explosions went off the heroes watching all flinched. The light was extremely bright and it made their ears ring.

"What the hell was that?!" Shota exclaimed as he rubbed his eyes. "That my friends was Katsuki Bakugo. Son of Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugo." Nezu supplied them with the slight bit of information he knew. "It seems the boy gained a combination of his parent's quirks making him secrete nitroglycerin and create explosions with it." Nezu said with an evil smile.

The Bakugo name was very big for a lot of different things. They were known for the Bakugo fashion agency owned by Katsuki's mother, and their known personalities. It was very easy to see that was who his parents were. Shota definitely wanted him in his class. He knew his personality might be an issue but he didn't seem too bad during the practical exam. He seemed to be able to keep his cool and reacted very quickly to a situation. He was going to be a good hero.

Oh boy was Shota in for a surprise.
