|Herc is staying at the Continental Army's camp for a while because he is wanted in NYC. Alex had been writing to Herc about a particular Frenchman who just needs a little love...|
Lafayette was almost finished training his soldiers for the day. He thought they were doing well, so he yelled to them with a smile, "Keep up the good work, men!"
Laf looked over to see two very good friends of his walking up, Alex and John. He chuckled at the lack of space between them, as he was very aware that they were inseparable. It was very rare that you saw one without the other, especially now that they started a secret relationship.
"Hey Laf," John said as they stopped in front of Laf, "You comin' to meet the spy Washington brought in?"
Laf smiled and nodded, "Oui, mon ami." He answered. John chuckles and looks at Alex who had a small smile on his face.
"Alex already knows him," John frowned and made a playful jealous face, "He seems very excited to see him again." Alex chuckled and kissed John's cheek gently. He then turns to Laf and smirks.
"I'm sure Laf will love him as well," Alex said, making John chuckle. Laf shook his head with a smile.
"And who is this spy?" Laf asked, trying not to laugh at Alex's comment.
"Hercules Mulligan," Alex answered while he wrapped an arm around John's shoulders. "And he's your type." Alex wiggled his eyebrows, making Laf laugh.
Laf also blushed a little, wondering what Alex thought his "type" was. He cleared his throat and asked, "What makes you think this spy is my type?"
Alex thought about Herc's traits for a second. He had secretly wrote to Herc about Laf and described him, and he could tell Herc was falling in love with Laf already. So, now he had to get Laf on board. But, Alex decided to be truthful anyway. He knew what Herc looked like, very well actually. It would be weird if he didn't, considering they've lived together for a period of time.
"He's tall, strong, funny, handsome, very charming," Alex thought it was a little weird calling a brother figure handsome and charming, but if it convinced Laf, then he would.
Even by the description, Laf started blushing slightly. He thought it was cute how Alex was trying to get them together. But Laf couldn't fall in love with only a description, he wanted a nice partner. He wanted someone who was respectful and kind, not only tall and charming. "But," Laf began, "Is he a good man, though?"
Alex nodded, "Of course, Herc is very sweet. I'm sure the first thing he'll do is kiss your hand, just to show respects, you know?"
Laf smiled, he was glad Herc was at least nice. But, he was curious about the hand kissing, "He'll kiss my hand? So, should I prepare to be swooned?" Laf asked.
Both Alex and John nodded, but Alex spoke again, "I'm sure if he finds you attractive, he'll flirt nonstop. Like me." Alex looked at John and smirked, earning an eye roll from the slightly smaller man.
Laf giggled at their small interaction, but then asked, "Should I flirt back then?"
"Honestly," Alex started, trying to find the kindest words, "Maybe you shouldn't. Not that it would be terrible, but it just doesn't sound like something you would do naturally."
John nodded and smiled, "Yeah, I'm sure you can flirt a little if you'd like, but I think he'd find your usual awkward self more attractive."
"But," Laf began to worry. He was honestly feeling like he had to please this Hercules, "What if he doesn't like my awkwardness?"
