TW: There is mention an attempt of sexual assault in this chapter. It's nothing major, but I wanted to put a warning anyways!

Draco's POV

Day twelve started the same way they always did. My father came in and tortured me this time. It was bad, but I knew Hermione could feel it through whatever connection we seemed to have. I was more worried about her than myself the entire time it went on. Before he left, he cursed her a few times where she sat. She was getting weaker. I knew I needed to get us out of here somehow. Her head hung forward and her breath was shallow.

"Hermione?" She didn't move, but made a small sound to let me know she was listening and awake. "Love, I need you to look at me." Her head lifted enough for her eyes to show through her matted hair. "You need to stay awake."

"I'm trying," she whispered. "I'm just so tired."

"Talk to me about the spell. What do we do?" If I kept her talking it would be alright. I was terrified for her life with how weak she had gotten. Every second she spent asleep, I watched her chest to make sure it was still rising and falling.

"The transference spell is rare and has never been achieved..."

"That's right. How do we cast it?"

"Two souls linked by their love...they channel that energy." She took small breaths between every few words. "Using the stronger of the twos wands, they transfer their life force to the recipient."

"And that's Harry right?" She nodded slightly. "What other plans do we need to make?"

"Protection. We need to have others protect us as we...as we cast the spell from a centralized location."

"And who is going to do that?"

"I'm not sure..." Her head leaned forward again.

"Look at me. Baby, look at me," she looked back up at my words. "Who will protect us?"

"Ginny...and Theo."

"Why them?" She gave a small smile thinking about why we chose the two we did. We had poured over those damned books until we had the incantation memorized. We knew we needed someone to protect us because we also knew we'd be in the center of the fight.

"Because they love us just as strongly...as we love each other."

"That's right. I love you Hermione. I love you more than I could have ever expected to love someone." It was true. Every day I thought about what would have happened if we hadn't been to our future. And every single day I can't wait for us to get back.

"I love you," she whispered. She sniffled looking back down. She looked much worse in our present than she did in that memory, it worried me. The door swung open revealing Dolohov instead of my father.

"I gave Lucious enough time trying to break you two, now it's my turn." He quickly removed her restraints as he dragged her from her chair. He threw her to the ground smirking at me.

"What are you doing?" I asked still pulling at my restraints. He continued to smirk and moved his hands to his belt. He began to undo it with an evil gleam to his eyes. "Don't you fucking touch her!" I yelled pulling harder hoping that these damned ropes would finally break.

"I think this will get some answers, no?" He threw his belt to the side and popped the button on his trousers.

"Dolohov, don't touch her!" New fear entered my heart at the thought of him assaulting her. She would never recover from that. Hermione tried to crawl away on her feeble limbs. He grabbed her ankle and dragged her back to him.
