Orario

It took several weeks to make it to Orario, and there were quite a few hiccups along the way. The main one being food, and the second being the terrain. The food wasn't too bad, since he could hunt, but he had to be sparing with his arrows; he didn't have very many to begin with and it was reasonable to assume he wouldn't be able to get more until after reaching his destination.

The terrain was the bigger issue. Bell had worn his best boots, but he had only owned work boots. They were meant to endure labor, but not constant wear and tear from weeks of walking through all sorts of terrain.

But after 3 and a half weeks of walking, avoiding all travelers (Bells appearance made him an easy mark), and sleeping in woods and ditches, he had finally made it to Orario. He got up to the gate and was immediately asked for an entrance fee of 10,000 valis  Bell paid it and finally, after years of being told stories by his Grandpa and reading about it, he was there.

Orario, the Jewel of the World.

Bell had come in with a plan, but this... this was nothing like what he was used to. The small village with only humans was the only life he had really known. This was a whole new world. His plan immediately vanished, being replaced with extreme curiousity.

He looked around and took everything in as he walked. He saw prums, elves, dwarves, amazons, humans, and a few races he didn't even recognize. He had only ever known humans, with other races sometimes traveling through but even then it was few and far between. Not only was this his first time seeing this many people, but also so many different types of people.

Bell continued to walk down the main road, eyes darting constantly. It escaped Bell's mind that this was now where he lived; he had plenty of time to take it in. He continued to wander for a while, just taking as much in as he could, before remembering how tired and sore his feet were. He needed a place to sit down and get the plan back on track. However, he didn't want to pay for a map, and from his Grandpa's book, he knew everything, especially information, was of value here. He would either have to get lucky and find someone nice willing to give him directions for free, get lucky and happen upon place to eat, or cough up some valis. It wasn't like he couldn't afford a map, he had plenty of money, but Bell had always been stingy with his money. Or more accurately, he had never paid for something he could figure out or do on his own.

High above Orario, a woman and her most faithful servant (as she saw them) were looking down upon the city. The woman was a goddess, one of the ones who had overthrown Zeus and Hera; Freya. She sat in her private room high atop the tower, Otar standing at attention in the back of the room. She was, as usual, looking upon the souls of the citizens of Orario from her throne. It was much of the same; people of low power looking to become rich, famous, or something of the like. Their souls were marred with greed. Today, however, there was a new soul. That wasn't uncommon of course, Orario new people in it every single day. But it was the color and radiance of this soul that caught Freya's attention. Because most souls she saw were one color. Rarely they were two color. This soul was something new. This soul was tri-colored. Something Freya had never seen, not since the very beginning of life on Genkai. And not only was it three colors, but it was oddly beautiful. It was black, red, and electrifying blue, all clashing, almost fighting for control. It looked like a soul at war with itself.

Freya sat there, mesmerized, for quite some time. She sat staring at the soul and its owner walk through the streets of the adventuring city, and she made a decision.

"Otar. Watch this boy. Give him a challenge. I want to test him."

Otar seemed to just know who 'this boy' referred to.
