Bell knew what dangers faced him on the first 5 floors. He knew what faced him past that. He knew how to fight the low-intelligence of the upper flow monsters. His Grandpa had already taught him.

The only things found on the first floor were kobalds and golbins. Starting on the second floor, dungeon lizards spawned. These were the only monsters found on the first five floors. War Shadows started spawning on the 6th floor, but he wouldn't be going down that deep. Many adventurers with falna died on these upper floors. The relative safety up here was just that; relative. For someone without a falna, relatively safe in the dungeon was still extreme danger. No, he would take it one floor at a time, only adventuring farther when he knew he could fight what was beyond. He was here to earn some money, and to prove a point to himself. He wasn't here to die.

Fighting the upper floor monsters should be easy. They were known to be weak and highly stupid. Kobalds were basically just dogs. Wait for them to come to you, easy. Goblins were also easy. They would both just rush adventurers up here. They simply couldn't strategize, didn't have the intelligence for it. The real issue with these upper floor monsters is the fact that they often appear in groups and overwhelm low level adventurers, usually due to fear from the adventurer. Bell wouldn't make any such mistake.

It didn't take more than 5 minutes of walking on the first floor to find his first group of monsters. It was 4 goblins. Easy. Bell took out his bow and put an arrow through one. His first dungeon monster kill. He put his bow and arrow quiver down and drew his sword.

"Come on."

The remaining three goblins rushed Bell immediately. He stood in one spot and made a swipe at the group, taking out 2 more. The remaining goblin was able to move move getting hit, but had lost the numbers advantage. Fortunately, the monsters here were so dumb they couldn't even retreat.  Bell simply made another swipe and killed the final goblin. Easy. As long as he could keep his cool under pressure, Bell would be fine.

' "The deciding factor of most fights is emotion." '

'I know, Gramps.'

Bell sheathed his sword and picked up his bow and arrow quiver, and walked deeper into the first floor, grabbing the magic stones along the way.

Many floors below, a battle was being waged between monsters and the members of the Loki familia. Try as they might, they couldn't contain the constant waves of minotaurs.

"They're escaping!" Yelled on Loki familia member.

"Ais, go contain the ones escaping. The rest of us will stay here." This was said by an older elf, though you couldn't tell from appearance, who had green hair.

After this was said, a young woman, presumably Ais, took off towards the escaping minotaurs.

Bell had been walking and fighting for quite some time now and had taken only minimal damage. He was now on the 4th floor, having made a beeline as soon as he realized how easy the upper floor monsters were to fight. This was as far as he was planning to go, however. It wasn't unheard of for monsters to venture a few floors above or below its spawn point. Going down to the 5th meant risking floor 5 and  floor 6 monsters. If any monster came across any monster from the fifth or lower, specifically a war shadow, he would be done.

It seemed almost inconceivable to Bell that he had made it to this point with minimal damage. Most adventurers did die on the upper and middle floors. Bell chalked it up to being able to stay calm up to this point.
