*Caspian*

I couldn’t help the awe, as I watched Kalama shift. Ash stood in front of me. Her brown and orange eyes danced like flames of a fire. Her fur was the deepest of red and my fingers itched to run through it. I bent down. Ash stepped forward, licking my hand. I ran my hands over her, tangling my fingers in her fur, enjoying the silkiness of it. I smiled. “It’s nice to me you Ash. You are beautiful.” Ash licked my hand again, turning and trotting away. She stopped, looking over her shoulder at me. I stood, nodding, and called to Bay.

*Ash*

The wind rustled my fur and the trees blurred as I ran. I looked over my shoulder. Bay ran just behind me. His black fur shone blue in the sunlight and his dark, blue eyes watched my every move. I could smell his lust and feel the want that was building inside him. I quickened the pace, enjoying the feel of the earth under my paws. I veered off the path, jumping and swerving between the trees and bushes. Bay kept up easily, as though he was my shadow. The thundering of his paws against the ground seemed to be in sync with the rhythm of my heart. Everything about him seemed to complete me, just as Caspian completed Kalama. They seemed to have the ability to extinguish the heat that was constantly building within us. I wasn’t sure where the heat came from, but its intensity dulled when Caspian and Bay were nearby. This is what Kalama had wanted with Evan.

“She never would have achieved that.” Bay’s voice filled my head. It sounded like ocean waves crashing against the rocks.

“I know.” I said, slowing as we came to a clearing with a pond. It was the same clearing he and the others had found us. My body turned, I felt Bay’s body hit mine with immense force. It sent us tumbling through the grass. We landed with him on of me, his paws pinning me to the ground.

“Why do you baby her?” His voice rumbled like thunder inside my head.

“She is me.” Bay shook his head. I could feel his anger bubbling at the surface

“She is but a vessel.” This time my own anger bubbled. I wedged my hind legs between his body and mine, surprise flashed in his eyes, as I sent him sailing over my head. He was quick though, his body slammed into mine again, just as I got to my feet. I twisted as we tumbled through the grass, sending grass and dirt flying. I landed on top of him this time, pinning him to the ground.

“You’re wrong, my Mate. Without Kalama, I would not be here. Just as you would not without Caspian.” Bay growled. I sighed. “I do not expect you to understand the hurt and betrayal that my Kalama and I have been through. I do, however, expect you to respect it.” Bay twisted out of my grip, getting back to his feet.

“My Pet is naïve.” He growled. I growled back. What was with this wolf. He made my blood boil in all the best ways. We circled each other, each of us waiting for the other to make the first move. I heard Bay growl. It was low and deep and the only warning before he leapt. His weight hit me, and we were once again flipping and tumbling through the grass. It wasn’t long before the kicking and biting turned into much more.
