*Kalama*

I felt the sensation of someone lifting me from the seat. The smell of fresh, fallen rain filled my senses. I relaxed, resting my head on Caspian’s chest, as he carried me from the car and up several flights of stairs. He laid me down on soft sheets and I felt him begin to undress me. I tried to help, but the softness of the sheets seemed to call to my body, leaving me unable to move or open my eyes. I heard Caspian chuckle, as he crawled in next to me. His lips were light on my forehead. His arms went around me, and I knew no more.

Sunlight, shining through an uncovered window, woke me. I sat up, stretching, and looked around. The room was large, though not as large as the one in Green Grove. It was decorated in deep shades of blue and purple. An oversized sofa and matching chairs surrounded a large flatscreen television that was mounted to the wall. The four-poster bed was made of strong oak and was draped in satin. Caspian wasn’t in bed and his side was cold. I looked at the clock, 11:30. Sighing, I threw the covers off me and got out of bed. After rummaging through my suitcase, I finally found a pair of jeans and a black, long-sleeved shirt that looked like it would fit. I reminded myself to ask Caspian if we would be able to go clothes shopping once we got back home and hopped into the shower.

I was just drying off when a knock sounded at the door. “Luna Kalama? Are you in there?” It was Jackson.

“I’ll be right out.” I said, getting dress. I opened the door and stepped back into the bedroom. Jackson stood next to a woman who sat in one of the oversized chairs. The woman had Julie’s light, brown hair, and caramel eyes. If this woman hadn’t been several years older than Julie, I would have sworn they were sisters. The woman stood. Her caramel eyes shining with the smile on her lips. She held her arms open, as she embraced me in a heartfelt hug.

“Luna Kalama. It is so nice to meet you.” she whispered in my ear. She stepped back, her eyes trailed down my body and back up. “And I must say, Alpha Caspian did not lie.” I frowned. “Oh, don’t worry dear, all good things. Let me introduce myself. Luna Mary Blake, of the Crescent Wolf Pack. I wanted to be the first to welcome you.” I smiled.

“The pleasure is mine, Luna Mary. Your daughter has been a great friend this last month.” Mary’s smile lite up her eyes again.

“I’m so pleased to hear that. Come. The men are currently in a meeting and I’m under strict orders to feed you before we join.” My stomach rumbled at the mention of food. Mary chuckled as she enlaced her arm through mine and led me downstairs.

Jackson followed a comfortable distance away as Mary led me to the dining hall. A few pack members sat at the tables. They looked, nodding their heads as Mary walked by. Mary nodded and smiled back, leading me to a table in the back. A kitchen Omega stood behind the table. She smiled at the Omega, “Maddy, good to see you. I’d like to introduce, Luna Kalama of the Green Grove Pack.” Maddy bowed her head to me, I smiled, giving her a nod. “How’s the pup doing?” The Omega, Maddy, smiled back.

“He’s doing great, Luna.” Mary looked at me,

“Maddy gave us quite the scare delivering her pup a few weeks ago, but all turned out fine.” I smiled at Maddy.

“Good to hear and congratulations.” Maddy beamed with appreciation, her smile lighting up her eyes.

“Thank you, Luna Kalama.”

“What’s on the menu today?” Mary asked.

“I put together club sandwiches and Annie made her famous spicy bean dip and crispy chips.”

“Sounds great. Fill up the visiting Luna’s plate, will you. Alpha Caspian will have us all if his Luna goes unfed.” Smiling, Maddy grabbed a couple plates from the table and began loading it with sandwiches and dip, along with chips. My stomach rumbled as I watched. Maddy handed the now full plates over to us, with a couple cans of soda.

“I hope you enjoy it, Luna.” Maddy said. I smiled back, following Mary to a table on the other side of the room. Jackson leaned against the wall behind the table, his eyes gliding over the near empty room. I picked up on of the sandwiches from my plate and bit into it. A fine layer of mayo coated my tongue, mixing well with the layer of tomato, cheese, and ham and before I knew it, three of the four sandwiches that Maddy had given me were gone. I dipped a chip into the bean dip and took a bite, my eyes widened as the many spices danced along my tongue. The cheese and beans seemed to melt and the chip added just the right amount of crunch.

“Mmm. This is great.” Mary smiled.

“Annie will be pleased to hear that. Her dip is quite famous around here. She even makes the chips herself.” I took another bite, glancing at Jackson. He had been staring, looking away when he saw that I’d noticed, mumbling an apology, and I realized that he had not been at lunch, or supper the night before, nor had we stopped along the way for anything.

“Jackson, you must be hungry. Why don’t you go get a plate?” He was shaking his head, before I finished the sentence.

“Sorry, Luna. I’m under strict orders, by the Alpha, to not leave your side.” I gave him my sweetest smile.

“I doubt anyone is going to attack me in the middle of the Crescent Wolf packhouse. In a near empty room, with the pack Luna at my side.” He looked across the room and I could almost hear his stomach rumble. I smiled again, “Go on. If the Alpha has an issue, he can deal with me.” Jackson bowed his head.

“Thank you, Luna.” I nodded, shooing him away. Halfway through my second plate, Caspian, John, Julie, and two other men joined us. He bent, giving me a light kiss on the lips. I smiled at him. He looked around the room, spotting Jackson, who ate a few tables over. I sensed his annoyance, grabbing his hand before he could walk away.

“Leave him.” Caspian looked at me, anger bubbled in the blue depths of his eyes.

“He defied an order. I told him…”

“And I told him to eat. He hasn’t had a crumb in over 24 hours. You cannot expect him to protect me if you’re going to starve him.” He looked back at Jackson, who sat, nervously pushing the bean dip around with a chip. At first, I wasn’t sure if he would let it go, but after a moment, his muscles relaxed, and the anger faded. He let out a sigh,

“Very well. I will let it go. This time.” I grinned, taking a bite of my last sandwich. Caspian sat down next to me, placing a hand on my thigh. Sparks danced along my skin, and I could feel my wetness build. Caspian sensed my arousal, meeting it with his own. The hand on my thigh slid closer to my wetness and I could sense his grin as I tried to control the urge to grab him right there. He gestured to the two men. “This is Mason Blake, Alpha of the Crescent Wolf pack.” The larger of the two men stepped forward, coming around the table, and offered me a hand. Alpha Mason was very large. He was nearly two inches taller than Caspian’s six foot, two inches. His broad chest rippled with muscle, that strained the thin blue shirt he wore. His blue jeans hugged his lean waist and no doubt powerful legs. Caspian’s hand gripped my thigh tighter. I leaned back against him, as I took Mason’s offered hand.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Luna Kalama.” I smiled.

“The pleasure is mine, Alpha Mason.” Mason gestured for the second man to step forward. I immediately knew that this man was Mason’s son. They shared the same blonde hair, although, this man was shaggy over the ears, instead of cut, close to the scalp like Mason’s. They also shared the same dark brown eyes and build. The son, however, was several inches shorter than his father.

“I would like to introduce my son, Samuel.” Samuel took my hand, shaking it briefly. “Samuel will be taking over as Alpha in just a few months. If you wouldn’t mind, I would like him to be included in the meeting this afternoon.” I bit my lip, unsure if I wanted this many people aware of my past, let alone the fire that seemed to uncontrollably consume me.

“It’s okay, Love. They can be trusted.” Caspian’s voice swept through my mind like a ripple on water. I squeezed his hand.

“That will be fine, Alpha Mason.” Blake clapped his hands,

“Very well, shall we begin. If, of course, the Luna is done with her lunch.” I grinned, scooping up the last of the bean dip, before standing.
