Obito cleared his throat nervously, his face turning crimson. "Who is it?!" he called, his voice a little too loud for comfort.

"It's just me!" Kisame's voice rang out from the other side, followed by a loud chuckle.

Obito groaned, a flush still on his cheeks. "Oh, shit... sorry, I need to handle this," he whispered quickly, pulling away from Rin.

Rin, clearly embarrassed, scrambled to the bed and buried herself under the covers to act like she was sleeping.

Obito caught on fast, opening the door quietly. "Dude, would you be quiet? She's trying to sleep."

"Oh! Sorry, man," Kisame apologized, "but that's actually why I'm here." Obito raised a brow. "Can I come in?"

"Uh... oh, right, yes," Obito stammered, stepping aside to let Kisame in.

Kisame entered and looked at Rin, still pretending to sleep. "Zetzu saw her... what are you gonna do?"

Obito sighed, a weight settling on his chest. "I...I don't know." He paused for a second, gathering his thoughts. "I mean, she's the three tails jinjuriki and I know she has sustained brutal training. I don't think she will be easy to take down..." he let out a sigh, "the only reason why he can kill me so easily is because he has a seal on my that literally stops my movements. If I didn't have that seal he would not be able to take me down, and he knows that."

Kisame glanced over at Rin, his voice quiet. "What are you gonna do if he makes you hurt her?"

The question hit Obito harder than expected, and his body felt heavy with the thought. "She already knows that he can take control over me," he said, his voice low. "But I still need to talk to her about Zetsu." Obito looked down almost in pity, "If I ever... if I ever turn bad on her, if I lose control, do whatever it takes to keep her safe." The sorrow behind his words was palpable.

Rin, still pretending to sleep, felt her heart ache. That's right... He could turn bad... just like he did with Sensei...

Kisame gave him a reassuring look. "Of course." He frowned knowing Obito was at war with himself, "I was just checking in. You seemed pretty off after she bumped into Zetsu."

Obito groaned, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, I know. Just as long as Zetsu thinks she's here for a job and nothing more, he shouldn't go after her. He was created after she was killed so I'm pretty sure he doesn't know who she is..."

He let out a long breath. "But just in case I'm gonna help her train and see where her strength level is. And hopefully I can strengthen her mind as well. She struggles with PTSD because of what happened in the prison. I hope to get rid of that pain... I want to bring back the Rin I once knew... along with myself." He smirked, "I already feel like my old self again. I just hope I can do the same for her."

A soft smile tugged at Obito's lips as he spoke, and Kisame chuckled. "You really love her, and it shows."

Rin, hearing those words, blushed deeply, but she didn't move. She thought about what happened right before Kisame entered the room her body feeling the warmth of the moment they were about to share. Maybe he wants this too...

Obito smiled again, his eyes soft with determination. "I want her to know that I care. I want her to know I'll be there for her, no matter who she is or who she becomes. No matter what, I'll stick by her side and protect her. Her safety, her happiness—that's all that matters."

Even though I'm broken, bad with social cues? a monster? Rin's heart tightened at the thought, but she stayed still, silent.

Kisame grinned. "Man, sometimes I wish I could be like you."
