After the billionth time Nat kissed my lips (not that I was complaining) I broke off to continue playing our little question game.

"Okay it's my turn now." I say as he starts to lean in again. "No, no"

"Fine what would you like to ask, princess?"

I couldn't stop the blush forming on my cheek. "Why are you here with me?"

"I told you I can't answer that."

"Tell me or else I will throw this french fry at you."

"No"

I start throwing the french fries from my cup til' he eventually told me to stop. "Stop, stop! Those are some valuable fries that I could be eating right now!"

"Answer!"

"Because I'm stupid and I apparently keep looking for trouble." He says biting his lip. I look at him puzzled. "I don't know okay. There's something about you that I like and can't stay away. Like a moth to a light. Sam always teases me. He says you're my eye candy." He looks away from me and gazes to the sky. "You're so beautiful, innocent and honest. I love how you're so easy to talk to." He sighs in frustration. "I think I should shut the fuck up now."

I smile at his confession. "You know you're so sweet right?"

"It's my turn for a question now."

"Go for it."

"It's about what you experienced. Why did Cody come to you for help? Was there something between you two? Were you guys dating or something? Sorry, I'm just trying to understand."

"I think I was just unlucky and the closest person he found. I don't think he was looking for me specifically, just someone for help. I don't know him like that, we definitely weren't dating, but I feel like he did it to himself. He's been known to party, kind of like the same context you just told me. That's why I'm worried about what you told me. He was like you."

"I understand."

"But you won't change..." I say quietly. I hated to be that girl. I just didn't want him to get seriously hurt.

"I can't promise that but I will try." He says moving a strand of hair from my face.
