Journal,
I know what it feels like to move from place to place, and I never thought it would be this hard. I guess its just cause I've learned so much here and met so many new people. I'm really gonna miss Virginia. Tomorrow's my last day. I don't know how to say this to my friends. Should I straight up tell them in person? Or do it over media? I'm so scared.
I'll just sleep it off for right now. Tomorrow's a big day and I need all rest I can get.
-Maddie

THE BIG DAY--
Maddie walks into the school, knowing this will be the day everything changes. Her friends approach her asking what's wrong. Maddie doesn't know what to say. She just bursts out with tears and is completely speechless. Her friends, Jack and Amber, comfort her at the best of their abilities. They don't know what's going on, but they do know something's wrong.
It takes Maddie a few minutes to recover. When she got up off her feet, she finally had the heart to tell them. "You guys? Today is my official last day" Jack and Amber already knew she was moving but they didn't know the official day. "I'm leaving to Cali right after school today"
Jack and Amber look at each other in an unpleasant way. "What? What's wrong? Why those faces?" Maddie says, worried. "We're afraid you might forget about us, so we made you a scrapbook!" Amber says. Jack says "We weren't done with it, but considering today's your last day, we figured you should have it now" They both hand the scrapbook to her. Tears start to pour down from Maddie's face. Hugs begin to gather.

As the school day passes by, Maddie has a lot on her mind. Who's gonna be my new friends? Are they gonna be like Amber and Jack? What is the school gonna be like? Are people going to make fun of me? WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? Clearly, Maddie is overwhelmed by all this. Before she knows it, the school day is over. She says her last goodbyes and heads home. When she gets home, the moving truck is already outside and almost packed up and ready to go. Maddie thinks in her head "This is really happening. I'm not dreaming. This is REAL LIFE" Maddie's mom yells out " Hey sweetie, do you have everything? Don't leave anything behind" Maddie throws her bags in the car and runs up to her room. She grabs all of her stuff and tosses it downstairs. Just as she rushes to do so, she comes across a bracelet. Her best friend bracelet Amber and Jack gifted to her on her first week of school in Virginia. The river of tears come flowing down once again. Maddie gets up and wipes the tears. "We'll all still keep in touch" Maddie says to herself. Everything is all packed up and they are just seconds away from leaving good ol' Virginia!
As the long ride begins, Maddie gazes outside dreaming of all the wonders California has to offer!
After the exhausting car ride, they finally reach their destination, Los Angeles, California!
Maddie runs into the new house and calls dibs on the best room she lays eyes on. She unpacks everything from the truck. Maddie's mom says "How about you walk around the neighborhood and get to know some people?" Maddie doesn't hesitate to storm out.
