First Impression

New Friends?

As Maddie is taking a stroll around the block, on a hunt to look for new friends, she comes across a neighborhood playground. She decides to swing on the swing sets for a while. She checks her messages to see if Jack or Amber sent her a message. Nope. "Maybe they're busy" Maddie thinks to herself. All of a sudden a girl, about Maddie's age approaches the swings as well. The girl ask Maddie, "Are you new to the neighborhood? I haven't seen you around before." Maddie replies "Well I just moved here from Virginia." "Oh, well welcome to Los Angeles, I'm Hope!" The girl say. In return, Maddie gives her name, "Hi Hope, my name's Maddie." "Hi Maddie" Hope says.
"So what school do you go to?" Hope asks.
"Well, like I said we just moved, so I haven't really picked a school yet so..."
"Oh, right, yeah, haaha. Well I go to Loyola High school" Hope informs.
"What grade are you in?" Maddie asks
"I'm a Senior, 12th Grade, What about you?" Says hope
Maddie says, "Oh my goodness, me too, that's awesome! What are the odds!"
A guys from across the street walks over to the basketball courts and starts shooting some hoops.
Maddie asks, "Uhm, Who's that?"
Hope replies, "Oh, him? That's Matthew Espinosa. The most popular guy in school"
"He's also a senior"
Maddie asks "Are you friends with him?"
"We've talked, and hung out a few times, but we're not close"
Maddie suggests, "We should go ask to play basketball with him"
Hope says, "You can, I gotta go home in a bit, I gotta finish up some stuff"
"Well, do you want my number so we can hang out later?" Maddie asks
Hope gets her number real quick
"Okay, later Maddie!" Hope yells out!
As Hope storms off into the distance, Maddie is curious to know more about this "Matthew Espinosa" considering he's popular and all, it might get her to the top of the chain in school.
"Hey, are you playing with anybody?" Asks Maddie
Matthew doesn't here her.
Maddie taps on his shoulder.
He get startled and pulls his ear buds out "Huh?" Matthew asks.
"Are you playing with anyone?" Maddie repeats herself.
"Oh, no." Matt says
Maddie asks "Mind if I join you then?"
Matt replies "Uh sure, I mean I don't mind"
Maddie's face lightens up with joy.
Maddie impresses Matt with her "slick" moves. Or so she thinks.
Matt just laughs. "You need help?" He asks
"No? Why would I need help? I got this in the bag" Maddie says flirtingly
"Cause you haven't made one shot in the past 20 minutes" Matt says jokingly.
"Here let me show you how a real pro does it" Matt takes the ball and brings out his moves.
Matt misses a few times
Maddie mimics him and says "Need some help there?"
They both laugh hysterically.
As day turned to dark, Maddie had to leave.
"Well it was nice shooting hoops with ya" Maddie closes up. "I gotta get home though, so I guess I'll catcha later" as she starts to pace away.
Matt yells out "Hey, I never got your name."
"Maddie!" Maddie says with a glimmering smile across her face.
"Matt" Matt says back!
As Maddie sees Matt enter his house, she sprints home with a gigantic smile. She barges inside her house and runs upstairs to her room and plops on her bed. "What a great day" she says aloud.
She forgets the fact that neither Jack nor Amber had texted her once today.
Shes just so happy that she had seem possibly the boy of her dreams.
