Notes:

I had to do that thing again where the rotisserie chicken was spinning so fast that I had to slice a chapter in half again because it was getting far too long.
Anyway, we're finally getting bits of the actual plot. Yippie!
Please Enjoy.

Neuvillette can't remember ever having such a good night's sleep.

He attempts to stretch, making a little purr trill as he does, but finds his movement limited. Neuvillette makes a little sleepy growl in annoyance. Behind him, there's an amused huff of a laugh from Wriothesley.

Neuvillette rolls over to face his mate, finding Wriothesley still with a half smile on his face, those pretty eyes bright in the sunlight that sneaks into the bedroom through the crack in the curtains. Neuvillette forgets to scold the Alpha for burrito'ing him. Instead, he shuffles closer to cup Wriothesley's face, rubbing his palm against the scratchy stubble there.

"Good morning," Neuvillette whispers, gently tugging Wriothesley's head down so he can press his forehead to the Alpha's, "Did you sleep well?"

Wriothesley wraps an arm around Neuvillette's waist and tugs him closer. His answer is to press a kiss to Neuvillette's forehead, his rough fingers gently brushing Neuvillette's hair aside. The Omega practically melts into the touch and kiss with a happy little purr.

Neuvillette's glad Wriothesley seems to be in better spirits this morning. Part of him desperately wants to know why his mate had been weeping last night, and he'd considered merely using his powers to look into it. Neuvillette had wiped Wriothesley's tear away, after all.

But what purpose would forcing Wriothesley to reveal things he might not be ready to serve?

"Are you going to unroll me so we can go about our day?" Neuvillette asks in a conspiratorial whisper instead, tucking closer into Wriothesley.

Wriothesley makes a show of considering it, pursing his lips and furrowing his brow before he merely shakes his head no. Neuvillette is pulled closer, and just like last night, Wriothesley just rolls over him to keep Neuvillette in bed underneath him. Curling his body around his Omega. Neuvillette sighs in fond exasperation.

Could he simply toss Wriothesley off of him? Yes. Will he? No. Neuvillette enjoys Wriothesley's warmth and the weight of his Alpha overtop of him far too much.

It does mean they end up lazing in bed together for some time, which turns breakfast more into a brunch affair when they finally emerge from the bedroom to ready themselves for the day. Wriothesley seems to have more of an interest in doing the cooking today, and Neuvillette works in tandem with him to make up their brunch. The Alpha seems to enjoy it greatly.

Neuvillette makes a note to go grocery shopping to pick up more ingredients and hopes that Wriothesely might feel confident enough to try venturing out with him. Once the Alpha has his clothing, of course. He's sure Wriothesley will appreciate the fresh air. While Neuvillette hopes Wriothesley comes to think of the townhouse as their home, he doesn't wish for the Alpha to remain cooped up in here.

Neuvillette's about to ask the Alpha what he thinks on the matter as they're doing the dishes together when there's a knock at the door. The only thing they are expecting of course is the delivery of Wriothesley's clothing, so Neuvillette fully expects to see Aeris on the other side of the door. It would certainly be the quickest delivery Neuvillette has ever received.

The Melusine on the other side of the door when Neuvillette answers is not Aeris, but Liath. Neuvillette is surprised to see her, considering he's currently on vacation and has stepped fully away from the case involving the trafficked Alphas. The look of concern and worry on her face makes Neuvillette think that this isn't a friendly visit either. Neuvillette quickly invites her in.
