Leon followed Nikola out the door, keeping his gun ready. "You can put your gun down, I killed them all," she said and pushed his arm down where he was holding the gun.
Leon just raised his eyebrows in surprise and nodded in praise. "Good..." he said awkwardly but didn't finally put the gun away. "What are you doing here?" asked Nikola.
I am a government agent and am supposed to secure a virus sample and research the virus. Actually, I have the order to put down everyone who might be infected or in my way or whatever, but I won't do it with you because I can't do it. Because you are pretty and because I like you.
But Leon couldn't say that because he was an RPD police officer.
"I'm a police officer, I should have started on Monday, but now everything here is messed up," he lied. "Oh shit," Nikola said uninterested.
Maybe Leon really should have told the truth, maybe then she would have had respect for him. Maybe she would have been impressed. No matter who cares, she's just a stupid girl.
"What are you actually doing here?" Leon finally asked. Nikola glanced furtively behind him and tried to think of something to say. "I'm here because I would have been killed outside," she said, which was partly true. But not completely. Half the truth had never been the whole truth, but the rest was none of this wannabe cops' business anyway.

"So, you have to crawl through here now," ordered Nikola. "Through there?" Leon asked, kneeling down to look under the three-quarters-open metal shutter. "How do I know that there aren't a mass of zombies out there?" asked Leon and looked at Nikola questioningly, hoping for a laugh rather than an answer.
"You can also cuddle up with the zombies in this hallway," she suggested, actually smiling. "No, then I'd rather squeeze through here," he said and also smiled. "Trust me, I killed them all," she encouraged him, crossing her arms.
Her eyes shone in the pale light that came through the slit and he felt he could trust her. Her face was small and her lips looked soft in the same light. He knew it was wrong to trust her. But he did. He wanted to believe she was good. He wanted her to be good. Oh god let her be good.
Suddenly there is a bang behind them. Someone; something; banged and scratched against the doors that were slightly offset from them. "If you ever want to cuddle again in your life, I would advise you to squeeze your ass through there, immediately!" Nikola hissed and you could visibly see that she was tensed.
Then he realized. She also seemed to be just a girl with fears. Fears of being torn apart every second if he doesn't force his ass through there now. Her strong, stubborn image faded as she looked at him with fear in her eyes. You could tell that she wanted to get out of here and that he was blocking her way. But she couldn't say anything because otherwise he would know that she wasn't as carefree as she pretended. Even with that terrible fear in her eyes, she looked warm and friendly. "Do it now or I'll tear your ass open," she cried in agony and pushed him closer to the exit. The door banged and shook, threatening to break off its hinges. He came to his senses again.
"All right, see you on the other side," he said briefly and began to push himself under the iron shutter. When he finally saw the hall on the other side, he almost collapsed with happiness; it was bright, clean and not a zombie in sight. "Move," Nikola shouted in a matter of seconds and her little head just squeezed out of the shutter.
