Nikola sat in her room, her back pressed against the wall, tears cascading down her cheeks in silent streams. Anger pulsed through her veins, fueled by the intensity of the argument with this stupid Cop.
How dare he say those things? How dare he dismiss her feelings so callously?
Yet, beneath the layers of fury, a deep ache gnawed at her, a raw vulnerability that even her rage couldn't mask. Her fists clenched at her sides as she hugged her knees tightly to her chest, trying to contain the storm raging within her. In the solitude of her room, Nikola's mind echoed with the echoes of their argument. Each accusation, each harsh word echoed off the walls in her mind and burst upon her within. And yet, despite her seething anger, tears continued to flow, a silent testament to the pain that lingered beneath the surface.
She wanted to scream, to unleash the torrent of emotions that threatened to consume her whole. But instead, she buried her face in her hands, muffling her cries as best she could. How could she be so mad at him and yet still be consumed by this overwhelming sadness?
*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*Leon walked up and down in a Room further away from the one Nikola was in. His mind was racing and everything he did came over him slowly. Quiet curses were spoken every few 30 seconds and he kept ruffeling trogh his hair all the time. Then he made a descition.
Pushing aside his pride, he made his way back to the Room Nikola was in, his steps slow and hesitant. As he stood outside her room, a torrent of conflicting emotions flooded his senses. He was mad, yes, but he was also scared. Scared of losing her, scared of what their argument meant for their future.Taking a deep breath, Leon knocked softly on the doorframe, the sound echoing in the silence of the facility. When there was no immediate response, he knocked again, louder this time, his heart pounding in his chest. And then, finally, Nikola got up from behind the bed that she had been lying in. Inwardly, Leon backed away in shock as he saw her face.
Was she crying? No theres no way right?
But as she rose from behind the bed, he could recognize Nikola's tear-streaked face, her eyes red-rimmed and a little bit swollen. He looked at her in guilted disbelief. He didnt make her cry now did he? Nikola scrubbed over her face, wiping possible tears but she couldntn wipe away this look in her eyes and once again Leon realized what he had done."What do you fucking want here", she barked and looked at him angry.
For a moment, they simply stared at each other, the weight of their unspoken words hanging heavy in the air between them. In his head, Leon searched for possible things to say. But he couldn't find a word, a sentence that expressed what he felt. And then, without a word, Leon stepped forward, wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace. He didn't have all the answers, didn't know how to fix what he had destroyed, but in that moment, it didn't matter.
Nikola's eyes widened as he pulled her into a tight hug, but then that expression morphed into pure anger. She raised her fists into the air and pounded them down onto Leon's back. "Let me go, do you think this is funny, you jerk?" she shouted as her fists continued to rain down on him. Leon wasn't sure if she was hitting him with full force or if something inside her was holding her back. Either way, he didn't move an inch, remaining in place, holding Nikola, hoping that all his remorse would flow from his heart through their touch into hers and she would understand. But it didn't work that way, and Leon was aware of that. "Let me go right now, you asshole!" she continued to rant.
Her anger burned hot and fierce, fueled by the betrayal she felt at the things he did and the words he said. But beneath the surface, there was a deep-seated fear, a fear of losing him, of losing the fragile connection they had fought so hard to build. These feelings seemed to her to be nothing more than hate and the fact that these tears were a call, a call for them to try, couldn't have mattered to her.
