Charles
Today's the first day of my senior year at lycee/ high school. Again. It can't be too different from the academy of science, if anything, lycee should be easier. Even if it is the best lycee in Paris.

Schedule: First Semester
7AM to 8:30AM Economics
8:45AM to 10:15AM French Literature
10:30AM to 12:00PM Multivariable Calculus
12:00PM to 2:00PM Lunch Break
2:00PM to 3:30PM French History
3:45PM to 5:15PM Chemistry II

He had half the amount of subjects here than he did in America's academy of sciences. But that was to be expected. He had taken Chemistry and Calculus before, but the liberal arts classes would be new to him. Nonetheless, this was school. Charles was good at school.

His day started off well, Economics seemed to be a very easy class. French Literature would be a little difficult, seeing as he had spent the last few years in America and was behind, but if he put some extra hours in, he was sure he would catch up in no time. Calculus was as easy as breathing. As he walked to his history class, he wasn't too worried, history was all memorization.  But then he saw her. He saw Emma. How could she just be there looking so effortless beautiful? Her blond hair glowed in the sunlight streaming into the room, and he near felt frozen. She was talking to Elle, Raph's twin. Speaking of Raph, he clapped him on the back in greeting and waved a hand in front of his face.

"Bro, you're like, sickeningly pale right now. Are you good?" He asked. Charles had felt the blood drain from his face. Scratch history being easy. This would be his most difficult class. And it wasn't because of the subject.

"Fine. Just fine Raph. I'm good." Charles said.

"Are we going to talk about Princess or no?" Raph asked sneakily.

"SHHH! Raph, can you shut your mouth, PLEASE. She's right there-AGH she's coming over here." He exclaimed in a whisper.

"I'm confused. Isn't that what you want?" Raph asked.

"Charlie! Raph! We missed you both during lunch!" Emma exclaimed, rushing up to him and grabbing his left arm and grabbing Raph's t-shirt with another arm and dragging them over to her friend group. For the second time today, Charles felt the blood drain from his face.

"H-hi Emma." He stuttered.

"Don't 'Hi' Emma me, we have SO MUCH to catch up on. Don't think I didn't miss the fact you were here all summer, and THIS is your first conversation with me. If I didn't know you were busy, I'd think you were avoiding me. Good thing I know better." As she approached her friend group she started speedily talking again."Now Charlie, you know Elle and Aiko of course. Raph, Charlie, meet Genevieve. She moved here from Los Angeles. You two should have tons in common! Gen, Charles is our family friend who also recently moved back to Paris. He was in New York for some fancy Lycee before realizing there's nowhere better than Paris! Isn't that right, brainiac?" She asked.

"Y-yes. No. I mean, yeah I moved here from New York but I already graduated. I'm here on a gap year." He finished talking coolly by yanking his arm out of Emma's grasp and putting out a hand to shake with Genevieve.

"I have a bone to pick with you, mister." Emma said. It was then when Charlie noticed Emma's expression. To say she was fuming would be an understatement. Emma looked livid.

"What's wrong?" Charles asked.

Emma grumbled, "Not the time, nor the place." under her breath. Rochelle took over,

"WHATS WRONG? WHATS WRONG IS YOU! YOU'VE BEEN IN PARIS FOR THREE MONTHS ALREADY AND DECIDE TO SPEAK TO NONE OF-"

"And that is the end of this conversation." Aiko said, putting a hand over Rochelle's mouth to muffle her angry outburst while Raph dragged his twin away.

Charles sighed. He knew he'd have to face the consequences of his own actions at some point.

"For what its worth, I am sorry. I was busy. But that's no excuse, I should have communicated with you guys. Genevieve, its a pleasure to meet you, and I'm sorry you had to get in the middle of our uh...I'll text you Emma." He mumbled and took an empty seat. Emma knew he took Genevieve's blushing cheeks as embarrassment for the situation. But Emma knew that the american was blushing because she had developed a minor crush on Charles. It was no shock that Charles had gotten more attractive at 17. Though her crush on him may have faded at 15, she wasn't blind. Charles was hot, with his mom being Chloe Bourgeois and his father Luka Couffaine, it was no shock that their son was model worthy. Charles looked very similar to his father as a teen. And his father grew up in the public eye, not just as the son of jagged stone, but as a popular lead in the now disbanded band Kitty Section.

Emma knew Charles was surprised to see that she took the empty seat next to him.

"All I want is a conversation, Charles." She said.

"And you'll have it. Why don't we meet for dinner tonight at our place? Unless you have other plans?" He asked.

"Mum and dad are with Aunt Kagami and Uncle Felix in Japan so Aiko's staying with me. And I'd rather not leave her alone with Louis and Hugo at home. Why don't you come over to ours? We're ordering Italian food tonight."

"I'll be there." Is all he said before turning his focus to the board as the teacher walked in.
