Nat P.O.V.

We had been here for one week, and things were peaceful... which felt weird. The last few safehouses had been so run down, public, and fast paced we were always on our toes. We had to scrounge for everything and work our assess off just to stay afloat. This one was nice and secluded, a very good spot to be after our very public time at the hospital. The nearest store was an hour and half drive, which is where Steve had sent Bucky and Sam just a bit ago. Their bickering had gotten a lot better over the last few days as the tension died down, and Steve wanted to get them out of here as much as possible so we could be alone.

I was still on 'bed rest' and stuck in the nest. I had convinced the boys to let me walk around with their help just a bit... a bit of walking and a lot of help. It was always two of them helping, if not all three. I hated that that was all the freedom I was getting, but it was better than nothing. "Steve?"

At the sound of his name he all but came running, fear etched on his face, "what? What is it? Are you okay?"

I couldn't help but laugh a bit at his reaction, "I'm fine," I assured him quickly. "I was just going to ask if we could please go outside?"

He looked out the large window, the sky was gray and the world was still cold. I saw the hesitation within him, "Nat," he sounded torn.

"Please, I'm begging you," I pleaded, I needed fresh air, I needed outside. I loved the rain and cold, it felt like a comfort rather than the bother that most people thought of it as. While it wasn't raining at this moment, it was definitely on the horizon.

He dithered for a moment, I put on a puppy eye face. I wasn't above that to get what I wanted at this point.

He laughed at it, "fine, fine, only for a bit," he relented.

"Oh thank you," I started to try and struggle up, eager to get out there.

"Ah-ah," he corrected with a sharp sound, and I stopped short. "Let me help you. If we're doing this, we're doing it safely."

"Meaning you'll be in charge?" I surmised as I relaxed back down.

"Meaning I'll be in charge," he confirmed, "meaning I will help you unhook from all your wires and then help you out of bed."

"Steve, I think I can walk," I pushed back, my tone gentle and testing to see how much I could push."

"You try walking on your own, and we're not going out," he came over and knelt by my side. Not much wiggle room here, but I would take what I could get.

"Yes Sir," I mockingly saluted with my good arm.

He lowered my leg from where it was slung up, "good?" He asked, looking me over for any signs of pain.

"Ya, just stiff," I admitted when I shifted back as he moved my leg.

He then started to go about disconnecting the cords and IVs from where they attached to me. Shutting off the alarms as they started to blare when they couldn't detect my heartbeat. "I hate that sound," he shook his head.

"Same," I agreed as he gently hooked my good arm over his shoulder and started to help me get up. He took my other hand in his to help me brace and attempt to get my balance now that I was on my feet.

"Good?" He asked, turning me slightly so that we were facing each other, my arm was off of his shoulder now and he was now holding my arms to brace me.

"Ya," I lied just a bit, still a bit unstable. It was hard given that my leg was in a thick cast and held basically straight.

"We can take a minute, outside isn't going anywhere," he saw right through my lie as I stumbled a bit between his arms.
