Reader POV!
Gretchen and I have been dating for a little over a year now and have managed to hide it from the people at school for the entire time. We told Regina, Karen and Cady a few months ago because it was getting hard to hide it from our best friends when we spent so much time with them.
It's Valentine's Day and we're planning on subtly coming out to everyone. We want to post on Instagram and make it all cute and not explicitly say we're dating but make it known we are taken. If you get what I mean?
We are currently sat in Regina's bedroom deciding what pictures to use. I scroll through my camera roll. "I don't know, Gretch, should we use this one?" I ask her and point my phone in her direction so she can see. "That one is so cute! I think it would be sweet but we do only have 10 places and over a year of stuff to look through."
"That's true. I'll favourite it just in case we want to come back to it." I respond.
"That's a good idea, sweetheart." Gretchen smiled widely at me. (a/n: went shopping today and the lady at the tills called me honey and sweetheart. i was blushing istg.)
"Okay, we need to keep looking." I remind her. Regina and Karen are off in Regina's en suite bathroom doing God knows what. Makeover's, I think? They wanted to give us time to do this alone but they also wanted to hang out.
Around 30 minutes passed and we had finished picking pictures for the post. Now it was time to actually post it. I started to get anxious. "Baby, what if we do this and people hate us?"
"Y/n, it's 2024. People aren't as hateful about queer people as they used to be. Don't worry about it," She smiled at me and held my face gently and leaned in to kiss me, "And if they don't like it... At least we don't have to worry about being private anymore." She consoled me.
