This is not the update you want and this is not the update I want to give. I had so much more I wanted to write but this is where we ended up. I'm tired and I won't be able to properly finish this fic in the way I had wanted. There's still a lot of loose ends and moments that I wasn't able to include but I did try and fit in the big scenes that I had wanted into this chapter. I'm sorry that this chapter and the last one were so rushed, but I had to get them finished now or else they never would be.

Kaveh wakes up determined, heart made up long before his mind could stop him. He thanks Layla for the sleepover, flicks a sleeping Faruzan in the middle of the forehead, and then makes his way out the door.

Kaveh honestly can't believe he'd let things get this far. After allowing thoughts he'd been avoiding into his head, like a flood gate, he'd suddenly realized just how much stuff he was avoiding.

For instance, his friends. Avoiding his friends was probably not the correct answer, but in the moment it had felt like the only option. But now he stands in front of Cyno and Tighnari's shared dorm with only the vague formulation of his plan. His hand wavers on the doorknob.

But, he begins to reason, Kaveh should really be getting to class. But afterwards he will talk to them, Kaveh promises. Except after class he's hungry, and you should never have serious talks while hungry.

And afterwards Kaveh continues to find excuses and excuses, but with the day well into the evening, Kaveh has run fresh out of them while on his third visit to Cyno and Tighnari's front door without even thinking of knocking and has made no progress in patching up his friendship. He's still hovering anxiously in front of the door like a ghost.

So either way, he's just gonna run away again if he doesn't get it over with now. Like ripping off a bandaid, Kaveh forces himself to open the door.

"Guys, I wanna apologize."

"OH FU—"

"ARCHON'S ABOVE."

Sat atop their shared bed, Tighnari and Cyno's bodies are enveloped by only the presence of their blanket. The two quickly blossom into a deep red as they stare wide eyed at the intruder. Kaveh stares back with a similar shell-shocked face.

Tighnair eventually pipes up with a meek, "Uhm, can you... do this at literally any other time?"

"Hmm," Kaveh considers it, tosses it around in his head, revels in the other's embarrassed faces a little longer, and then answers. "No."

Cyno groans and Tighnari lets out a frustrated sigh, working his fingers through his disheveled hair. By now the two had quickly detangled themselves and had thankfully still had their pants on, at the very least.

They turn and give him their full, but not very happy, attention. Kaveh sighs, words clogging in the part of his throat that runs alongside his heart as he opens his mouth. "So, you guys were right."

"Hmmm?," Tighnari perks up immediately, mood picking up at his words.

"Oh my ar— I said you both were right, I like—," Kaveh cringes, "I'm not straight."

"How queer," Cyno dryly responds while Tighnari drags a hand down his face, saying, "we have enough gay tension, we don't need yours too."

Kaveh frowns, "seriously? I'm trying to apologize over here. You guys were right and I'm sorry for avoiding you guys." Kaveh lets the words sit for a second before tacking on a much needed, "even though I probably would've figured it out sooner if you both hadn't pushed me into a corner and just made fun of me constantly."
