Chapter 5: Princess Charming to the Rescue!
(Kaye's POV)
Everyone stood rooted to the ground as the headmistress' voice boomed, calling out for my Jayden. Oh my Gucci. My gorgeous eyes must be playing tricks on me because this can't be happening! My poor Jayden, landing into a puddle of trouble, thanks to the low-levelled five who started the childish food fight. I could rescue him like a Prince Charming. But in this case, a Princess! Don't worry babe, your Princess Charming is on her way!
I've always hated those plain Janes. I mean, just look at them! Compared to my mesmerising appearance, they look like girls from the 80s. Not to mention their style is soooo last season. I can't believe that that exasperating Thea shoved her fattening pie in my cleavage! She'll pay this! And for my brand-new lacey tank top from Forever 21.
Not that I don't have enough money to buy another one. I belong to a very wealthy family who provides me with everything that I want. If I was living in those old times with the carriages and castles and such, I would have been royalty.
Princess Kaye Poreille. Has a nice ring to it don't you think? It is pronounced Pu-Rey-Lee not Po-Relle. I just hate it when people pronounce my beautiful French-Italian name wrongly! Peasants, what are you gonna do about them?
But still, I would serve vengeance on Thea. I used to treat her as my blood, my sister and companion. However, as time passed, I realised that she was not up to my standards anymore.
She did not have anymore boys admiring her although she was pretty enough. She had no love life and she spends her time on twitter, tweeting about her dumb idols. It was a disgrace to me, a social butterfly, to have a best friend who was a shut-in.
The princess can't simply have a lady-in-waiting like that, could she now? It is totally un-royal like.
I wanted to change her by criticizing and giving her feedbacks, in hope she will be more to my liking, but things got worse when she kept on being in-my-face about my diets, nagging like my mom and saying it was bad to starving myself.
So what if I wanted to be slimmer and more beautiful? I couldn't believe she was trying to stop me! What a friend, right? Then, out of the blue, she went off with her newfound friends from her English class, Leighton and Rosheyl.
"Okay, deep breaths, your highness. Chin up, shoulders back and smile," I composed myself as I walked my signature walk, the "Stride of Perfection" towards the headmistress' office. I made that up so that when a modelling agency discovers me I already have a dazzling move to make them swoon over me. The Poreilles are always prepared for future success.
It should be easy convincing her. Unsurprisingly, the headmistress sees me as a reliable, strong and beautiful young woman as I had been making her job way easier by informing her personally who had been misbehaving in our wonderful hallways.
That's why Evan and Peter are the only boys who do not fall for my charms. They might be complete clowns but they are smart enough to know that I am responsible for their frequent visits to Madame Desiree Dubois's office. They go there so often that they even have their own seats! Such a shame we have unruly students like them in our school... I have no sympathy for them anyway, they are just a couple of wannabe bad-boys who hang out with the Perky-puff Girls.
I put on my most radiant smile, showing off my set of pearly white teeth and gracefully knocked then opened the door. I smell the sweet aroma of Madame L's office. Apples and wild roses. The woman might be old but she has a good sense of smell.
"Why, Ms Poreille, what a surprise. Is there a problem?" the headmistress asked, looking up from her tiny spectacles. How people see in those tiny pieces of glass, I will never know.
Jayden turned and stared at me wide-eyed. Maybe he was mesmerised by my alluring appearance. I gave him a sassy wink as I flipped my glossy black hair.
"I apologize for the intrusion, Madame. But Jayden is innocent! It was Leighton Andrews and Peter Trey started the whole food fight. Jayden only threw the tub out of peer pressure," I said as cooked up my genius story. This should save Jayden and get the insufferable gang into trouble at the same time. I just hit two birds with one stone, who knew that I'm be so smart?
My headmistress nodded, taking my story in, and turned to Jayden, "Well then, young man, why didn't you say so? You don't have to cover for that troublemaker, Mr Trey. You should probably find better friends. Ms Poreille here is a good example."
Jayden opened his mouth to argue, his voice hesitant but loud, "Wait, what? What the hell are you talking about? Peter didn't force me to do anything!"
"Oh shush dear, stop defending them. As you can see, Madame, the pressure of his adolescent peers has gone deep. I shall take him away now," I countered.
I quickly added, "Oh and Thea Duchannes, Evan Dax and Rosheyl Odaire contributed as well."
Jayden was taken aback. I could tell he wanted to start arguing again, but the headmistress cut him off, "Well, Ms Poreille and Mr Chord, you are now dismissed. I'll go call Mr Trey and Ms Andrews."
"Let's go, Sugar," I giggled and gave a seductive smile as I held his hand and led him out of the room. It was so warm and the Armani aftershave smelled divine on him, our hands fit perfectly. I knew we were made for each other. He didn't pull away though, he was just silent and only let go once we got out of her office. Maybe he was so grateful that I rendered him speechless!
"Wait, hold on!" I grabbed his arm and caressed it. I quickly searched for my pen and a piece of paper. I quickly scribbled my number on the paper and sealed it with a kiss.
I gave it to him, and whispered huskily on his ear, "I'm like Carly Rae. I've just met you, but here's my number. So you better call me, baby."
I bit my lip seductively as he gave an "okay" with a smile. My heart started to palpitate as I watched him walk back to his class with his hands on his pocket. He is just utterly sexy.
My blissful thoughts were cut short when my eye catches a glance of Chelsea with Christian. What is she doing with that pitiful peasant?
I walked towards them and snapped at Christian harshly, "Don't you have class to go to?"
Christian froze for a while like an idiot, as if his mind was processing what I had just said. He then gave me a goofy smile and replied, "Oh yeah!"
I watched him walked away while he waved a childish goodbye, saying with that accent of his, "See ya later Kaye!"
I waited till he was far from our earshot before turning to Chelsea.
"What did that want?" I asked with an apathic expression and giving an eye-roll.
She gave a sweet smile and answered, "That cutie wanted your number, so I gave him!"
Hearing her reply, I felt horrified. But mostly disgusted. "What?! You gave him my number? Why would you do such a thing! He's such a dork! Eww! How could you?!" I started.
"He is Jayden's twin so maybe it isn't that bad," she defended in a meek voice.
I was about to get fired up and start a tantrum when Chelsea offered a shopping spree. Nice save, but it isn't going to make me forget about your little slip-up. But a little of shopping will calm me down and maybe I can take a short trip to the spa while i'm at it.
Plus, being close to Christian may come in handy at times. Maybe I can use him to get closer to Jayden. Who knows?
I forced another smile to her and hugged Chelsea, saying in my perfect pitched voice, "Fine, I forgive you. You know me too well. And anyway, I need new and sexy clothes to impress Jayden so he will fall for me even harder..."
I linked my arms with hers as we made our way to the school's exit. We'll be missing Geography but who cares about the stupid longitude and latitude when a shopping spree is concerned? Certainly, not us.
