Kairi and Prince Zuko looked at the black and red flying lemur with mixed emotions. They looked at each other because they didn't know what to say or do.

" What is that thing?" Prince Zuko asked.

" I don't know, but I think it's adorable," Kairi responded.

" Of course, you will find that thing adorable," Prince Zuko rolled his eyes.

The black and red flying lemur hissed at Prince Zuko.

" You offended them," Kairi looks at the lemur.

Prince Zuko shakes his head.

" Hi, Little One. It's okay; we are not here to hurt you," Kairi approaches the black and red flying lemur, holding her hand out to the animal.

Prince Zuko looked at the two warily.

The animal approached Kairi, sniffed her hand, and licked it.

Kairi smiled, grabbed the black and red flying lemur, and studied the animal by looking at its private area.

" Aw! This one is a girl," She looked at Prince Zuko. " What should we name her?" She asked.

Prince Zuko looked at Kairi as though she had grown a second head.

" Um. Who says you are keeping that animal?" He raised an eyebrow.

" Me," Kairi sweetly smiled.

Prince Zuko annoyingly rolled his eyes. He looks at the animal and studies her fur color.

" The fur color reminds me of Ember," He says.

" Ember?" Kairi looked at the animal and smiled. " I like it!" She holds the flying lemur close to her. " You shall now be known as Ember the flying lemur!" She giggled.

Ember screeches in response.

" Aw! I think she likes her name," Kairi pets Ember's head.

" Should we continue exploring or meet up with the others?" Prince Zuko asked.

" Let's continue exploring. I want to see if I can find ancient scrolls that can help me master my Air bending. I mean, I learned how to bend air thanks to some of my Great-Grandfather's scrolls that he had written himself that my Grandmother kept for safekeeping," Kairi says as she walks away with Ember in her arms.

Prince Zuko looked at Kairi's back curiously. He stayed quiet, following her and Ember.

The two decided to split up and check out the other rooms in the hallway they were walking on.

Prince Zuko stopped walking and stood outside a room with a decaying curtain bearing the air-bending symbol. He pulled the curtain to the left and looked at his surroundings. He takes a sharp breath in shock from what he has witnessed.

Several skeletons in Fire Nation uniforms scatter over the room before Prince Zuko. He slowly looked forward and saw a skeleton lying in the snow, surrounded by many more skeletons of Fire Nation soldiers. His eyebrows furrowed, studying the lone skeleton above the rest. He noticed that the skeleton wore Air Bender attire.

" Hey, Zuko!" A feminine voice called out, grabbing Prince Zuko's attention

" Hey, Zuko!" A feminine voice called out, grabbing Prince Zuko's attention. He turned and saw Kairi approaching him with Ember on her shoulder. He noticed she was holding a wooden box with an air symbol.

" What did you find in there?" Kairi asked.

" Nothing," Zuko pulled the decay curtain back and walked towards Kairi. " We should get out of here," He says, looking tense.

" Okay. I found what I was looking for anyway," Kairi smiled. I made sure to pray and respect the spirits, allowing me to use their scrolls to learn and master their bending. I do not want to get cursed," She said, looking at the box in her arms.

Prince Zuko nodded, wrapping his arm around Kairi's shoulder and escorting her from the room.

The teens and Ember left the Air Temple and met with the others. The crew looked surprised to see the flying lemur on Kairi's shoulder.

" Who is your friend?" Iroh asked while gently petting Ember's head.

" Her name is Ember. Prince Zuko and I found her," Kairi says, watching Iroh pet Ember.

Ember moors affectionately.

" Aw! She likes it," Kairi coos.

" It's her new pet," Prince Zuko tells the crew.

Ember hisses at Prince Zuko.

" Ember doesn't like it when you refer to her as it," Kairi looks at Prince Zuko.

" We should continue sailing." Prince Zuko changes the subject, his demeanor becoming prince-like. Set sail to the nearest Fire Nation port in the Earth Kingdom. We must find the repairs for the ship quickly and—" He glances at Kairi. "-and get other necessities because we have a long journey ahead of us," He tells his crew.

" Yes, Sir!" The crew ran back into the ship to prepare for their departure.

Ember jumps off Kairi's shoulder and onto Iroh's, her fingers brushing his dark silver hair.

" Ember," Kairi looked concerned.

" It's okay," Iroh reassures while chuckling. I'll help you look after this little one," He smiles.

Kairi's gaze softened, and she nodded.

Ember happily eats some bugs that she found in Iroh's hair.

Prince Zuko shivered, thinking that they needed to restock bathroom products on the ship since they had been mostly taking warm water showers.

The others entered the ship and left the island, sailing to the nearest Fire Nation port town in the Earth Kingdom.

Days have passed, and Kairi has been learning how to air bend thanks to the scrolls she found from the Air Temple.

Kairi learned how to create a shield using air. The scroll mentioned that it was the most common defensive tactic for an Airbender. It involves circling enemies, suddenly changing direction when attacked, and evading by physical movement rather than bending. However, an Airbender can still deflect attacks as needed by throwing up gusts of air close to their bodies as a shield. It is to stop attacks directly and, more often, push the attack aside, conserving energy and allowing them to turn the movement into an attack simultaneously.

Kairi learned to regulate heat. The scroll explained that Airbenders can warm themselves using proper breathing techniques, allowing them to thrive in freezing environments. She thought learning it was a good idea because she wouldn't have to wear thick clothing and could still fight and defend herself.

Kairi also learned hypersensitivity. The scroll talked about Airbenders being capable of perceiving subtle shifts and vibrations in the surrounding air currents. They can detect approaching threats, which gives them a split-second increase in their reaction time.

She was surprised to learn that the scroll had similar air-bending moves to those she had learned thanks to her Great-Grandfather's scroll, like Flight, Air Blast, Air Cushion, Air Kick/Punch, and Levity. There were other air-bending moves, but she knew it would take a while or a long time to learn them since some were deadly, and she planned to use those abilities as a last resort.

Kairi was meditating in her bedroom when the footsteps of someone approaching brought shivers all over her. She stops, opens her eyes, and walks towards the door. She opens it and looks forward, seeing Iroh with Ember on his shoulder since the flying lemur loved spending time with the older Firebender.

" Morning, Kairi. I wanted to let you know that we are almost arriving at the port town," Iroh informed.

" Great!" Kairi smiled, excited to leave the ship and explore a town with the others.
