Weeks seem to pass quicker in the busy town of Small Heath, Birmingham.
Vanessa tries her best to get used to the town, but it's hard for her to adjust to her new job position... Pretty much a housewife without the actual title, a housewife who now lives in a town who worships her boss's feet.

The houses of Small Heath are closer to poorly made flats.
Families living side by side, vertically lined up in complexes of only two rooms... a bedroom upstairs, and a kitchen downstairs.
Upstairs consists of a twin size bed, a cast-iron tub, a crib, a dresser, and a wardrobe, all in one bedroom. Downstairs is the kitchen, it has a dinner table, a coatrack, a stove, an ice box, and a privy nestled into a closet sized bathroom underneath the staircase.
Although it has all of the necessities humans need to live, Tommy was right, it's far from the luxurious Arrow House.
But as Tommy and the Peakys work hard to end the vendetta and avenge the deaths of their brother John Shelby and Tommy's wife Grace Shelby, Vanessa spends more time with Tommy's baby boy than she ever expected to.
But the sweet innocence of the young toddler quickly tangled inside of her heart strings. The little one is kind, a gentle boy, and lovely company to Vanessa as they spend most of their time locked away in the flat, hiding from the mafia.
Although Vanessa enjoys having two pound placed daily into the palm of her hand, with the love from sweet baby Charlie, the job is something she'd even do now for free.
He reminds Vanessa a bit of herself as a child being that they both lost a parent at an early age. Vanessa lost her father to the Spanish Flu before she even was able to crawl. Although the only parent she had left wasn't a gangster like Tommy Shelby, she too felt the pain of having an only parent who had an extremely busy and hard life.
