You walk down the cobblestone streets of London; you haven't been here very long, but you're starting to get familiar with the area.. Well, as long as it's to and from work.

I relocated here recently, apparently I'm good at what I do and they always find new places to send me. The omnic crisis has left a lot of places around the globe in shambles, but thankfully this assignment has been a walk in the park. It almost feels normal as I walk to and from the office each day for work.

Ever since overwatch was disbanded, I've traveled to assist many cities regain a sense of normalcy. I work with the local governments to make sure everyone is able to remain in peace, and keep an eye out for those who wish to disturb that.

I've had the occasional run in with small groups of lowlifes that terrorize omnics for the fun of it. I'm not going to say I enjoy beating the shit out of people, but putting assholes in their place is something that occasionally brings me joy.

I was born and raised in Australian Outback before.. everything happened. My mom decided moving to the states was going to be best for the both of us because of the job opportunity she got. Much to my disappointment, I've lived HERE my whole life and she wanted to uproot that.

I miss my dear childhood friend, I haven't seen him since I was 11 and he was 13; up until then, him and I were inseparable. We practically lived at each other's houses since our mothers got along so well.

'I miss him.' You think to yourself as you make your way to your favorite pub after a long day of kissing government official asses and paperwork.

You plop down on your usual chair, at the end of the bar, closest to the door. The sticky smell of beer fills your nose and the sound from the dingy old tvs and chatter acts as a comfortable white noise. The bartender immediately gets started on your usual in between tending to the other patrons. You're so lost in thought that you don't even notice the drink being placed in front of you.

All you can think about is how all the cities of the place you used to call home were wiped out due to either radiation or violence. You hang your head low as you think about what happened to your friend and his mother, holding back tears as you reminisce.

"What's troubling you today, pretty lady?" Finley asks as he nudges the drink towards your dominant hand. "What isn't troubling me?" You chuckle darkly, eliciting a sorrowful sigh from your only friend outside of the office.

"I just miss Jamison" you sigh "I've been thinking about him a lot lately" you say as you take a big sip of your drink, taking comfort in the familiar burn as it goes down.

"The boy from your childhood?" Your friend asks as he pours a beer for the guy sitting next to you. "That's the one" you murmur into your glass, eyes darting from Finley's as yours full with sadness.

"You really haven't heard from him at all over the years?" He asks gently, leaning down onto his palms so he's more eye level with you.

Finley knows about everything that happened during that time, since you got hammered one night and you were a mess at last call. He couldn't bear to leave a drunk woman, new to the area alone at night and walked you home. You sobbed about Jamison the whole time as he helped you to your apartment. He even helped you into bed and laid out on your couch until you woke up so you weren't left in an unlocked apartment overnight. That was definitely an interesting morning..

"He didn't take it well when I told him that we were leaving Australia. The last time I saw him, he refused to even look me in the eye as I hugged him and said our goodbyes." I say as I avoid eye contact, opting to scratch the back of my head so it doesn't look like I'm intentionally avoiding Finley's gaze.
