"Heath!" I whisper harshly for the third time as he kept poking my thigh, I glared at him and his cheeky smile only grew. The teacher was reading out, rather monotonously, an extract from the book.

I rolled my eyes, this class was terrible today. I caught Kat's eye across the room and she made a slitting her own throat gesture, I nodded feverishly in agreement.

Poke.

Poke.

Poke.

"Poke me one more time and I'll rip your balls off and feed them to you in a pie!" I growled, obviously I had said it louder then I thought because the whole class fell silent, including the teacher.

Shit.

"Miss Eastwood, I know this is a creative classroom but there is never any need to use such crude language. Detention, now." My mouth opened and closed like a guppy and I stood up slowly, gathering my things. Kat waved a small goodbye.

"Sorry?" Heath said as I went to leave, I narrowed my eyes at him playfully and grabbed my detention slip. This was so weird, detention was never during class back home.

Making my way to room 105 I carefully opened the door, it was a small dark classroom, one window, one whiteboard and one snoring teacher. With a couple of staggered students around the desks, I kept my eyes down and plopped the slip on the sleeping teachers desk and made my way to a seat.

Suddenly my wrist was grabbed and I was pulled down onto a chair with force, I let out an "umph" and swiveled to see who grabbed me.

Kade.

He winked at me as I glared at him and put my head to the desk groaning, "Why are you everywhere?" I asked into the table, I felt Kade laugh beside me and shuffle closer.

"What's a goody-two-shoes like you doing in here anyways?" his hot breath in my ear made me bolt straight up, eyes wide.

"Ever heard of personal space? And I'm here because Heath is annoying." Kade laughed and all the other detention goers looked at us in annoyance, my face heated up and I looked to the ground. Why is he pretending like we didn't just have a disagreement last weekend?
"Yeah, that he is." I looked up at Kade and gave him a confused look.
"Annoying, Heath's annoying." He clarified thinking the confused look was directed at his statement.

I looked at him again and stupidly let myself study his features. Strong prominent jawline, cute straight nose, plump pink lips and black eyelashes surrounding bright blue eyes, he had messy raven black hair and bright white teeth. He looked a bit like.... No, no he couldn't.

Kat? Kade?

Shit.

"Do you know a Katarina in our grade?" Kade eyed me with a perplexed look on his face, then his trademark smirk returned, "She's my younger sister."

Double shit.

"How come you two are in the same grade then?" I asked nonchalantly, he shrugged and said,

"I repeated." I looked him dead in the eye but he looked away, "Why?" I asked, he sighed and shrugged, I knew for a fact that Kade was smart, Heath accidentally let slip one night that Kade used to have the highest GPA in our year, but he didn't try.

"Why?" I asked again, curious.

"Damn you ask a lot of questions Bee." My stomach churned at the nickname, this time I shrugged and sat back in my chair, facing the front.

"Because I didn't show up for finals in freshman year, so they made me repeat." I nodded slowly eyes wide, if he repeated... how old was he?

"How old are you?" I asked, Kade rolled his eyes and they landed on me, he had an are-you-serious-can-you-stop-asking-questions face on, I smiled sweetly and nodded for him to answer.
"19 in 2 months." My eyes widened and I nodded. I was still only 17, and he'd be 19.
